Full Job Description

Costello Marine Contracting Corp., a well-established marine construction company with over 50 years in business, is hiring a Part-Time Entry-Level Draftsman to support CAD drafting and design work for marine construction projects across the East End of Long Island.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone starting their career in drafting, AutoCAD, or engineering design to gain hands-on experience in a specialized construction field.

This position will begin as an in-office role in Greenport, NY, with the opportunity to transition into a hybrid or remote position based on performance and company needs.

Key Responsibilities

Create and modify CAD drawings (AutoCAD) for marine construction projects
Prepare technical drawings, site plans, and structural details
Assist with construction design documents and drafting revisions
Maintain organized project files and documentation
Update drawings based on field changes and project requirements

Qualifications

Entry-level (0–2 years of experience)
Associate’s degree or coursework in Drafting, CAD or related field preferred nut not necessary
Proficiency in AutoCAD software required
Knowledge of construction drawings, blueprints, or site plans is necessary
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

Exposure to marine construction, civil construction, or structural drafting
Familiarity with permit drawings or as-built drawings
Basic understanding of construction methods or materials

Work Environment

In-person office role in Greenport, NY to start
Projects located throughout the East End of Long Island
