Full Job Description

Position Overview

We're hiring a full-time Accountant/Bookkeeper to oversee the day-to-day financial operations for a portfolio of up to 50 condominium associations. This is a salaried, fully remote position paying $80,000–$110,000 annually, with flexible hours, a gas card, and the opportunity to earn additional income (please note that health insurance is not currently offered). While the role works remotely, a few responsibilities require someone within driving distance of Hampton, NH, so we're prioritizing candidates based in the Southern NH/Seacoast area — Hampton, Exeter, Dover, Durham, Portsmouth, Newington, Newmarket, and Greenland.

What You'll Do

In this role, you'll manage the full accounting cycle within AppFolio for each association we serve. Including:

· making weekly bank deposits for checks received from associations,

· paying approved invoices on a weekly basis, and

· producing monthly financial reports — P&L statements, check detail and deposit records, balance sheets, accounts receivable summaries, and general ledgers — for every property in the portfolio.

You'll reconcile each association's accounts, serve as the go-to resource for property managers with questions about their reports, and handle special report requests as they arise.

You'll also manage client and customer billing on a weekly, monthly, and/or quarterly basis and respond promptly to any financial or billing questions from clients, customers, or property managers.

Systems & Platform

This role is built around AppFolio. We're looking for someone who works exclusively within AppFolio for day-to-day accounting — data entry, reconciliations, reporting, and account management across every association. Additional accounting software that integrates directly with AppFolio is welcome, but AppFolio needs to be your primary, hands-on system.

Logistics & Requirements

Because part of this job happens away from a desk, you'll need reliable access to an insured vehicle to make deposits, potentially attend meetings, and retrieve mail. You should be comfortable with core Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint), have your own printer/scanner, and maintain a dedicated phone line for business use. You must also be able to receive high volumes of mail.

Additional Opportunities (Paid Separately)

For candidates interested in expanding their scope, additional paid work is available preparing and submitting 1099s each year (due before January 31) on behalf of SSMM and its associations, as well as completing and filing annual tax returns for associations as their fiscal years close.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
