Role Summary
Advanced Stucco Design (ASD) is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our preconstruction team. In this role, you will evaluate project specifications, construction documents, and site conditions to develop accurate and competitive cost estimates for stucco, Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems (EIFS), and related exterior envelope assemblies.
Your work will span new commercial construction, insurance restoration, building maintenance and repairs, and historic/specialty restoration projects. You will be expected to manage your estimating pipeline from initial plan review through bid submission, collaborating closely with operations, project management, and field leadership to ensure our estimates are thorough, profitable, and aligned with ASD’s standards of quality.
Key Responsibilities
Estimating & Takeoffs
- Quantity Takeoffs: Perform accurate material and labor quantity takeoffs using multiple take-off services, including but not limited to stucco, EIFS, masonry, sealants, and waterproofing.
- Cost Estimating: Build comprehensive cost estimates in Stack Estimating, incorporating labor, materials, equipment, and project-specific risk factors such as waste, site access, staging, and weather contingencies.
- Bid Management: Manage the full bid lifecycle from initial plan review and scope evaluation through proposal preparation and submission. Track all active bids in HubSpot, maintaining accurate deal stages, follow-up schedules, and bid-day documentation. Develop rapport with GCs, clients, and vendors to help facilitate timely responses to RFIs, clarifications, material quotes, etc.
Plan Review & Analysis
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret architectural and structural drawings with a focus on building envelope details, moisture management systems, flashing integration, and substrate conditions.
- Specification Review: Analyze project specifications to identify scope inclusions/exclusions, material requirements, performance criteria, and potential value engineering opportunities.
- Insurance & Storm Damage Scoping: Review insurance claim documentation (Xactimate estimates, adjuster reports, field photos) to develop accurate repair scopes for stucco and EIFS storm damage, including supplement identification and documentation.
Field & Vendor Coordination
- Site Visits: Conduct pre-bid site inspections to assess substrate conditions, access requirements, and existing building envelope conditions. Document findings using CompanyCam for internal reference and project records.
- Vendor Relations: Solicit and negotiate pricing with material suppliers and specialty subcontractors to ensure competitive and accurate bid pricing.
- Cross-Trade Coordination: Collaborate with affiliated trade partners (roofing, windows) to identify cross-trade opportunities on shared projects, particularly on insurance restoration work.
Collaboration & Communication
- Internal Coordination: Work closely with the Managers and field personnel to clarify scope, resolve discrepancies, and ensure smooth handoffs from preconstruction to production.
- Client & Architect Communication: Engage with general contractors, architects, and property managers/owners to clarify project requirements, present estimates, and negotiate scope.
- CRM & Pipeline Management: Maintain organized and up-to-date records in HubSpot for all active and pending estimates, including deal values, probability, notes, and follow-up tasks.
- File Management: Ensure all project files are properly stored and organized in company shared storage according to organization standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
Required
- Minimum 3–5 years of construction estimating experience, with direct experience in stucco, plastering, EIFS, or exterior building envelope trades.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural construction documents.
- Strong understanding of stucco and EIFS application methods, substrate preparation, moisture management, and code-compliant assemblies.
- Proficiency with digital takeoff and estimating tools (experience with Stack Estimating, eTakeoff, or similar platforms preferred).
- Strong mathematical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple bids under tight deadlines.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites within the Front Range and surrounding areas.
- Continuous improvement mindset. Capable of asking the questions and doing the research to further understanding of the various scopes that ASD performs.
- Ability to attend industry events and customer/client gatherings for networking and learning opportunities.
Preferred
- Experience with insurance restoration estimating.
- Familiarity with HubSpot CRM or similar sales/estimating pipeline tools.
- Experience using CompanyCam or similar field documentation platforms.
- Knowledge of EagleView or aerial measurement reports.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field — or equivalent combination of education and field experience.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Primarily office-based with regular site visits to active and prospective project locations.
- Must be able to navigate active construction sites, including climbing ladders, walking on uneven surfaces, and working at heights as needed for site inspections.
- Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) during all site visits, including but not limited to: hard hat, steel-toed boots, company-logoed high-visibility safety vest, and safety glasses. Additional PPE may be required based on site-specific conditions.
- Standard business hours (8AM-5PM) with flexibility required during peak bid seasons or tight submission deadlines. Variations in start-end times subject to management approval.
- Local travel within the Colorado Front Range; occasional travel to project sites beyond the metro area as needed.
- All paid-time off requests must be submitted and approved by management in Rippling in advance.
Compensation:
- Base salary: $90,000-$150,000 based on experience
Pay: $90,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
