Automotive Dealership Assistant Controller – St. Louis Area Dealership

We are a St. Louis Area Dealership currently looking to hire a motivated and professional individual to join our team as an Assistant Automotive Controller. 2+ years of Automotive Accounting / Office experience is REQUIRED! Accounting degree is a plus but not required. Extensive accounting experience and the ability to prepare a financial statement is required. We are offering a competitive base salary plus bonuses and a full benefits package to the right individual.

Responsibilities:

● Assist with accounting operations of the dealership including, but not limited to timely financial reporting and dealership compliance.

● Manage financial statements of the dealership

● Validate cash, as well as all other assets and liabilities

● Adhere to dealership financial policies and procedures established by the corporate office as well as generally accepted accounting principles.

● Compliance with local, state and federal regulations.

● Monitor the controls in place to safeguard dealership assets and customer data.

● Actively manage cash flow, bank reconciliation, floorplan and accounts receivable balances.

● Analyze financial data, account for variances and present results and/or recommendations.

● Assist in the preparation of financial statements following approved guidelines.

● Coordinate audit preparation and assist with inquiries (sales tax, franchise, warranty, property/casualty).

● Respond timely to inquiries from employees, vendors, state and federal agencies.

● Serve as a resource to office staff and accounting personnel.

● Ensure compliance with appropriate internal and external authorities.

● Prepare for weekly A/R and CIT meetings by reviewing receivables and open A/R’s with the Controller.

● Perform month/year end closing tasks as assigned by the Controller including but not limited to, report generation and completion of compliance checklist.

● Maintain professional personal appearance.

● Complete required training assigned through the company training portal.

● Adhere to consistent and reliable work schedule.

● Demonstrate ethical business practices and integrity in all interactions to uphold the Foundation Automotive brand.

● Effectively perform duties and responsibilities in a safe manner.

● Other duties as assigned.

Skills Required:

● Ability to keep the books up to date, clean and organized

● Ability to prepare a financial statement

● Meticulous attention to detail

● Strong data entry skills

● Ability to work with others

● Well versed with Google Enterprise Suite

● Trainable

● General knowledge of payroll accounting processes

Requirements

5+ Years Accounting Experience is REQUIRED
