Position Overview
The HVAC Installer Apprentice works alongside experienced Lead Installers and installation teams to assist with the installation of residential HVAC systems, ductwork, air handlers, condensers, heat pumps, and related equipment.
This position is designed for someone looking to learn the HVAC trade through hands-on field training while developing the skills needed to become a professional HVAC Installer.
The ideal candidate is coachable, hardworking, dependable, positive, and willing to learn.
Key Responsibilities:
Installation Support
- Assist Lead Installers with HVAC system installations
- Help carry, move, and organize tools, equipment, and materials
- Assist with ductwork installation and system setup
- Learn proper installation procedures and HVAC best practices
- Help maintain clean and organized job sites
- Support installation teams with daily tasks and project completion
Learning & Development
- Learn HVAC installation techniques, airflow principles, and equipment setup
- Learn how to properly use tools and installation equipment
- Follow company installation procedures and quality standards
- Develop troubleshooting and problem-solving skills over time
- Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities
Safety & Professionalism
- Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines
- Wear required PPE and maintain safe work practices
- Maintain professionalism and a positive attitude on job sites
- Represent the company professionally in customers’ homes
- Show up on time and ready to work every day
Qualifications:
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Positive attitude and coachable mindset
- Ability to work in hot attic and outdoor conditions
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and materials
- Dependable transportation
- Ability to work well within a team environment
- Mechanical aptitude is a plus but not required
Preferred Qualifications
- Construction or mechanical experience is a plus
- Trade school or HVAC school experience is helpful but not required
- Valid driver’s license preferred
