Accounts Payable

Large commercial Printing Company in Carlsbad is seeking an account payable person who will be responsible for assisting the Accounting Manager in maintaining the sub ledger and general ledger accounts and preparing the monthly financial statements. This position makes journal entries, performs balance sheet analysis, bank reconciliation in QuickBooks Desktop. Process all Accounts Payable and assist Accounts Receivable staff members.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION OF THE JOB

Process journal entries including, but not limited to: prior month reversals, recurring monthly entries, balance sheet entries, and inter-company charging transactions.
Reconciles bank account daily to verify accuracy of transactions and confirm balances.
Coordinates with managers and supervisors in an effort to continuously improve our systems and provide any needed information.
Review outstanding AP accounts and follow up as necessary; bring issues to Supervisor’s attention immediately.
Research and analyze discrepancies of invoices, check runs, and assist with month-end close process.
Completes special projects as assigned.
Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience
Three to five years of accounting experience in financial analysis and corporate accounting in a manufacturing environment including preparation of financial statements
Experience with accounts payable processing
Strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills; ability to determine root causes for out-of-balance situations
Must understand relationships between sub ledgers and general ledger
Excellent math skills; Intermediate knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Word knowledge
Advanced knowledge of Quickbooks Desktop
10-key by touch with excellent accuracy
Ability to communicate with all levels of employees and management in a tactful manner when researching discrepancies
Extreme attention to detail and ability to work in fast paced environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
