Overview: EXPERIENCED LIFE ENRICHMENT DIRECTOR

Join our vibrant team as a Life Enrichment Assistant and become a vital part of enriching the lives of seniors in our community. In this energetic role, you will design, coordinate, and facilitate engaging activities that promote socialization, mental stimulation, and overall well-being for residents. Your enthusiasm and creativity will help foster a warm, inclusive environment where seniors feel valued, connected, and empowered to enjoy each day to the fullest. This paid position offers an exciting and challenging opportunity to make a meaningful difference while developing your skills in senior care, recreational therapy, and activity planning.

Qualifications

Energetic, trainable, enthusiastic person willing to be trained as a Life Enrichment Director.
Knowledge of Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, memory care programs, and senior care best practices.
Previous experience working with people with disabilities or in home & community care settings is highly desirable.
Strong communication skills to effectively engage residents with diverse needs and backgrounds.
Excellent schedule management skills to coordinate multiple activities seamlessly throughout each day.
Compassionate approach with a genuine passion for enhancing the quality of life for older adults through recreational therapy and social engagement.
Relevant certifications in recreational therapy or senior care are advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided as needed. Responsibilities

Plan, organize, and lead a variety of engaging activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities, including arts and crafts, music sessions, games, outings, and themed events.
Collaborate with nursing staff and caregivers to integrate activities that support residents’ cognitive health, especially those with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia.
Manage activity schedules efficiently to ensure a balanced calendar of events that encourages participation across different groups.
Provide companionship and social support to residents by fostering meaningful interactions and encouraging participation in group or one-on-one activities.
Maintain detailed records of resident participation, preferences, and progress to inform care plans and enhance personalized engagement strategies.
Support residents’ emotional well-being by counseling on aging issues and offering empathetic listening during activities or informal interactions.
Work closely with team members across departments to ensure safety protocols are followed during all activities and outings.
Stay informed about best practices in recreational therapy, memory care, and senior engagement techniques to continually improve program offerings.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
