The Director of Marketing & Communications is responsible for leading Legacy Private Trust Company's marketing, communications, brand, and engagement strategies to support business growth, strengthen client relationships, and enhance the firm's reputation and market presence. This role ensures consistent, high-quality messaging and experiences across all internal and external communication channels while promoting Legacy's trust, investment, and fiduciary services.
This position combines strategic leadership with hands-on execution. The Director develops and executes integrated marketing, communications, digital marketing, content, event, and brand initiatives while leveraging analytics, technology, and data-driven insights to improve effectiveness, efficiency, and business results. Working closely with leadership and cross-functional teams, this role aligns marketing efforts with organizational objectives, supports regulatory compliance, and continuously seeks opportunities to enhance Legacy's marketing capabilities and market presence.
As Legacy's primary brand ambassador and culture champion, the Director plays a key role in bringing the firm's values, culture, and identity to life. Initially serving as an individual contributor, this position is responsible for establishing a scalable marketing function, including processes, standards, performance measures, and future team development as the organization grows.

§ Required: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.

Legacy Private Trust Company is seeking a strategic, creative, and results-driven Director of Marketing & Communications to lead the firm's marketing, communications, brand, digital marketing, events, and engagement initiatives. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Director of Marketing & Communications leads and executes the full scope of marketing and communications functions at Legacy. The following responsibilities represent the core expectations of this role and are subject to change as business needs evolve.
§ Maintain strict confidentiality in all aspects of client, prospect, third-party partner, and staff information.
§ Adhere to and uphold the conduct and performance standards of Legacy in all duties performed, including all applicable industry rules and regulations.
§ Maintain current knowledge of industry rules and regulations, ensuring that all marketing practices comply with legal standards and reduce risk. Proactively implement measures to uphold these standards within all marketing and promotional activities to maintain company integrity and trust.
§ Partner with Enterprise Risk Management and leadership to ensure all marketing, advertising, communications, and promotional activities comply with applicable regulatory requirements and fiduciary standards.
§ Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
§ Oversee the creation, updating, and management of marketing materials, including digital content and physical assets such as corporate images, business cards, letterheads, and name tags. Ensure all materials adhere to brand standards and are available to stakeholders in a timely manner.
§ Monitor the use of brand elements across various channels to maintain consistency in visual and messaging standards. Provide guidance and support to internal teams and external partners to ensure compliance with brand guidelines.
§ Monitor and assess brand initiatives using data to refine strategies and enhance brand integrity across all platforms.
§ Act as a liaison with a select group of independent banks and investment advisors with whom Legacy has or seeks to establish Trust Service Office Agreements. Facilitate brand alignment and collaborative efforts to promote a unified brand presence across these partnerships.
Internal Brand Ambassador & Culture Champion
§ Serves as a key steward of Legacy's culture and employee engagement efforts.
§ Represent and actively model Legacy’s Culture Fundamentals (Legacy by Design) through visual design, digital content, verbal communications, written content, and internal campaigns. Champion these values in day-to-day interactions and in the development of all internal materials.
§ Contribute as an active member of Legacy’s internal culture focus group, bringing a marketing and communications perspective to culture-building initiatives, employee engagement strategies, and internal recognition programs.
§ Develop and execute internal communications campaigns that reinforce Legacy’s brand identity, cultural values, and team engagement, including announcements, intranet content, internal newsletters, digital signage, and event materials.
§ Partner with leadership and team members to identify opportunities to visually and verbally bring Legacy’s culture to life across internal platforms, physical spaces, and team events.
Marketing Strategy & Execution
§ Partner closely with Relationship Managers, Investment Officers, and executive leadership to support organic growth initiatives, referral development strategies, centers-of-influence engagement, and client acquisition efforts.
§ Support the development of marketing programs designed to generate measurable business development opportunities and strengthen referral relationships.
§ Develop, execute, and continuously refine marketing and advertising strategies and plans that effectively promote Legacy’s services, enhance client engagement, and support business objectives. This includes a comprehensive annual content strategy and coordination with consultants to ensure cohesive external communications.
§ Create, edit, and oversee content for various channels, including social media, websites, email campaigns, and marketing collateral. Manage the marketing and graphic content calendar to track and plan all digital and print content, ensuring timely and effective delivery.
§ Lead digital marketing efforts across SEO, SEM, social media, and email marketing. Oversee the complete social media strategy, from platform selection and content development to graphic design, ensuring adherence to brand standards, consistent high-quality postings, and ongoing performance monitoring.
§ Utilize analytics and reporting tools to monitor and analyze marketing metrics, such as website traffic, social media engagement, and email performance. Provide insights and recommendations for continuous improvement, driving strategic adjustments as necessary.
§ Establish measurable marketing objectives, key performance indicators (KPIs), and reporting processes to evaluate effectiveness, demonstrate business impact, and support continuous improvement.
§ Conduct periodic reviews of the company website to ensure it remains engaging, aligned with marketing objectives, and optimized for search engines. Maintain and enhance the marketing database, ensuring all client information is up-to-date and effectively utilized.
§ Oversee marketing projects from initiation through final review, managing timelines, deliverables, and quality standards. Ensure all projects align with strategic objectives and deliver on goals.
Marketing Technology, Design, & Digital Innovation
The Director of Marketing & Communications is responsible for evaluating, implementing, and leveraging marketing technologies, AI-powered tools, and emerging digital solutions to improve efficiency, strengthen content development, enhance analytics, and support Legacy's strategic marketing objectives.
§ Lead the design, development, and production of marketing, communications, advertising, event, and promotional materials, ensuring quality, consistency, and brand alignment.
§ Evaluate, implement, and optimize marketing technologies, AI platforms, and digital tools that improve workflows, collaboration, content development, reporting, and overall marketing effectiveness.
§ Apply strong creative judgment and design principles to develop polished, professional, and on-brand visual and written communications.
§ Utilize AI and emerging technologies responsibly to enhance productivity, accelerate content development, improve internal processes, and identify innovative opportunities while maintaining appropriate human oversight, compliance, and brand standards.
Intranet Content Management & HTML
The Director of Marketing & Communications is responsible for managing and developing content on Legacy’s HTML-based internal intranet site, serving as the primary content owner and site steward for this important internal communications platform.
§ Serve as the primary content manager for Legacy’s company intranet, creating, publishing, and maintaining pages, resources, and announcements that keep employees informed and engaged.
§ Demonstrate the ability to work with HTML coding — either directly or through the use of AI tools — to build, format, and maintain intranet pages. Basic HTML reading and editing skills are required; advanced coding experience is a plus.
§ Create visually engaging, well-organized intranet content that reflects Legacy’s brand standards and culture, including text pages, image-based layouts, embedded links, forms, and resource libraries.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
§ Lead Legacy's marketing and communications function by establishing priorities, processes, standards, and accountability measures that support organizational growth.
§ Establish, document, and continuously improve marketing processes, workflows, standards, and performance measures to build a scalable marketing function that supports future organizational growth.
§ Identify future staffing, contractor, agency, and resource needs and participate in the recruitment, onboarding, training, development, and leadership of marketing team members as the department evolves.
§ Collaborate effectively with internal teams, including Relationship Management, Investments, Operations, Enterprise Risk Management, and Executive Leadership, to ensure consistent messaging, strong cross-functional partnerships, and alignment with organizational objectives.
§ Lead marketing projects and initiatives from concept through completion, coordinating stakeholders, managing priorities, facilitating communication, and ensuring timely execution of deliverables.
Vendor, Budget & Resource Management
§ Build and maintain relationships with print and digital advertising sources throughout the state.
§ Coordinate with outside vendors, service bureaus, regulatory experts, and external auditors to determine the best available options and make recommendations.
§ Develop, manage, and monitor the annual marketing budget, evaluate return on investment, and recommend resource allocations that support strategic objectives and business growth.
Industry Engagement & Professional Development
§ Lead and support public relations, media opportunities, community engagement initiatives, and thought leadership efforts that enhance Legacy's visibility, credibility, and reputation.
§ Engage with industry experts and centers of influence to maintain a strong professional network, supporting business development through strategic partnerships and referral opportunities.
§ Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and best practices — particularly in financial services marketing, AI-driven marketing technologies, and digital communications — to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.
§ Evaluate community engagement and sponsorship opportunities for ROI and value alignment.
§ Direct the planning and execution of all client and corporate events, including seminars, social networking, and recognition programs. Ensure events are executed flawlessly, with a focus on maximizing engagement, satisfaction, and alignment with business objectives.
§ Manage all aspects of event logistics, including vendor selection and coordination, budget management, venue selection, contract negotiation, and compliance with company standards. Ensure all events are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
§ Track the success and outcomes of each event by collecting and analyzing data on vendor performance, guest engagement, budget adherence, and overall satisfaction. Utilize these insights to continuously refine and improve future events.
§ Provide comprehensive support to speakers at seminars and forums, including content preparation, technical setup, and on-site assistance. Participate in or present at events as appropriate, representing Legacy in a professional and engaging manner.
§ Develop and implement strategies to enhance the attendee experience at all events, ensuring that client, prospect, COI, and employee gatherings are impactful and memorable. Tailor events to the needs and preferences of different audiences to foster stronger connections and business development opportunities.
§ Collaborate with internal teams to develop promotional materials, invitations, and follow-up communications that drive attendance and engagement, ensuring all event communications are consistent with brand messaging and reach the intended audience effectively. Work closely with Relationship Managers, Investment Officers, and the Executive Team to align event objectives with broader company goals.
§ Identify and mitigate risks associated with events, including safety, compliance, and reputational considerations. Ensure all events adhere to company policies, legal requirements, and best practices for ethical conduct.
