Full Job Description

Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing a wide range of accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial standards. Your expertise will help maintain the integrity of our financial data, support budgeting and reporting processes, and contribute to the overall financial health of our organization. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your accounting skills in a fast-paced environment while collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve organizational goals.

Responsibilities

Prepare and analyze journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger accounting to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including data entry, invoice processing, and payment management.
Conduct monthly account analysis and account reconciliation to verify data integrity across various accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Xero, PeopleSoft, or Sage.
Support payroll management using systems like ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, or Ceridian, ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing.
Assist with financial software integration and updates, including Workday, Paychex, or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) tools.
Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), and governmental accounting standards.
Perform detailed Excel data analysis for budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting purposes.
Handle confidential information with discretion while maintaining high standards of accuracy in bookkeeping and financial recordkeeping.
Support internal audits and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and reports.
Contribute to process improvements in accounting workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy across financial operations.

Experience

Proven accounting experience with a strong understanding of corporate accounting principles and practices.
Experience working with multiple financial software platforms such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar systems.
Familiarity with governmental accounting standards and public accounting practices is highly desirable.
Demonstrated ability in technical accounting tasks including journal entries, account analysis, balance sheet reconciliation, and general ledger management.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel skills for data analysis and spreadsheet management.
Prior experience handling accounts payable/receivable functions along with payroll processing using ADP or equivalent systems.
Excellent numeracy skills combined with attention to detail for accurate data entry and account reconciliation.
Ability to handle sensitive information responsibly while maintaining confidentiality at all times.
Strong organizational skills paired with effective communication abilities to collaborate across teams effectively.
