Specialists in Pediatric Neurology PLLC is seeking a second Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our growing private pediatric neurology practice. Our patient volume and referral base continue to increase, creating an exciting opportunity for a motivated Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant who is interested in developing a long-term career in pediatric neurology and epilepsy.
Since opening in May 2025, our practice is growing and has established a successful, patient-centered clinical model designed to provide highly specialized pediatric neurological care in a personalized private-practice setting.
This position offers the opportunity to become an integral part of a growing practice while receiving direct training and mentorship from experienced pediatric neurology and epilepsy providers.

The successful candidate will work closely with our existing Pediatric Neurology/Epilepsy Nurse Practitioner and Pediatric Neurologist/Epileptologist, who will provide extensive onboarding, clinical training, mentorship, and ongoing support.
In addition, the APP will collaborate closely with our full multidisciplinary team, including:
- Pediatric Neuropsychologist
- Pediatric-specific EEG technologists
- Front office staff and office manager
- Clinical and administrative team members supporting coordinated, high-quality patient care
Our clinical approach is based on a practice model that has been successfully developed and refined over many years.
The practice is led by Dr. Arndt, Pediatric Neurologist and Epileptologist, who previously served as:
- Chief of Pediatric Neurology at Beaumont/Corewell Health East Children's
- Director of the Pediatric Comprehensive Level IV Epilepsy Program, the highest level of pediatric epilepsy care nationally
- A leader in pediatric neurology and epilepsy nationally for more than 18 years
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to learn from this extensive experience while becoming familiar with the clinical workflows, patient-management strategies, and practice model that have been successfully implemented for our patients.
Position Responsibilities
The APP will provide evaluation and ongoing management of pediatric patients with a broad range of neurological conditions, with opportunities for a particular focus on pediatric epilepsy and seizure disorders.
Responsibilities may include:
- Performing comprehensive pediatric neurological histories and examinations
- Evaluating and managing patients with seizures and epilepsy
- Managing common pediatric neurological conditions
- Reviewing EEGs, imaging, laboratory studies, and other diagnostic information in collaboration with the physician as appropriate
- Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans
- Prescribing and managing medications within the provider's scope of practice
- Providing patient and family education
- Communicating effectively with families regarding diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up
- Coordinating care with primary care physicians, specialists, schools, therapists, neuropsychology, EEG technologists, and other members of the care team
- Performing follow-up visits and ongoing chronic disease management
- Documenting care accurately and efficiently in the electronic medical record
- Participating in a collaborative physician/APP model of care
- Developing increasing clinical independence and responsibility as experience within the practice grows
Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the State of Michigan
- Appropriate national certification
- Eligible for prescribing privileges and credentialing
- Strong interest in pediatric neurology and/or pediatric epilepsy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to develop strong relationships with children and their families
- Commitment to high-quality, compassionate, evidence-based patient care
Preferred:
- At least 1 year of experience in Pediatric Neurology or Pediatric Epilepsy
- OR completion of a Pediatric Neurology rotation during NP/PA training
- Previous experience caring for children with neurological disorders
- Experience with seizure disorders and epilepsy
- Ability and willingness to progressively perform independent and incident-to clinical work, consistent with applicable Michigan law, payer requirements, credentialing, and practice policies
- Interest in building a long-term career within a growing pediatric neurology practice
New graduates with meaningful Pediatric Neurology/Epilepsy clinical rotation experience may be considered for the right candidate.
Training & Mentorship
We recognize that pediatric neurology is a highly specialized field. Our goal is not simply to hire an APP with existing experience, but to develop a highly skilled provider who can become an important part of our long-term practice.
The new APP will receive direct mentorship and training from our current Pediatric Neurology/Epilepsy APP and Pediatric Neurologist/Epileptologist.
Training will focus on:
- Pediatric neurological assessment
- Seizure and epilepsy evaluation
- Pediatric neurology management
- Pediatric epilepsy management
- Medication selection and management
- Incorporating lab/study results; including EEG, CT/MRI, Neurogenetic, all results etc.
- Common pediatric neurological conditions
- Clinical decision-making
- Follow-up and longitudinal patient management
- Documentation and practice workflows
- Family-centered communication
- Efficient use of the practice's established clinical model
As competency and experience develop, the APP will be given increasing responsibility and independence.
