Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Part-Time Bookkeeper for a flexible opportunity in Santa Barbara or Ventura, CA, supporting the financial operations of a business office. This role is ideal for a dependable accounting professional who enjoys accurate recordkeeping, organized financial processes, and working independently in a trusted support role.

The Bookkeeper will manage day-to-day bookkeeping functions, reconciliations, reporting, vendor payments, and financial documentation. This position offers flexible part-time hours, a professional and stable work environment, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by keeping financial operations accurate, timely, and well organized.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, confidential, proactive, and comfortable partnering with CPAs, tax professionals, vendors, and internal stakeholders. This is a great opportunity for someone who values work-life balance, clear expectations, supportive leadership, and the ability to take ownership of important bookkeeping responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain accurate financial records, general ledger entries, account summaries, and supporting documentation.
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoices, vendor payments, and expense tracking.
Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, financial statements, and related records on a regular basis.
Prepare monthly financial reports and assist with budgeting, cash flow tracking, and reserve fund monitoring.
Coordinate with CPA and tax professionals to support tax preparation, reporting, and compliance needs.
Monitor timely payment of bills, taxes, insurance obligations, and assist with special projects as requested.

Compensation and Benefits

Pay range: $25 to $40 per hour DOE.
Schedule: Part-time, flexible hours.
Compensation is dependent on experience.
