PRIMARY FUNCTION
The AmeriCorps Program Director provides service sites with the programmatic training, coaching and technical support necessary to ensure successful implementation of the literacy program with high fidelity to the model and successful completion of each AmeriCorps’ term of service. The AmeriCorps Program Director is responsible for developing, maintaining, and sustaining productive relationships with essential site contacts, including Lead Teachers, Club Directors, school liaisons, and other pertinent staff, to ensure successful literacy program implementation and site engagement.
KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities)
· Talent Acquisition: Partners with the Human Resources team to develop a comprehensive member recruitment strategy to recruit quality and diverse AmeriCorps members. Implement the national talent acquisition process for selection and placement of AmeriCorps members locally. Ensure the program fills 100% of positions.
· Member and Supervisory Relations: Serve as the supervisor and primary point of contact for a cohort of AmeriCorps members. Be proactive in providing support to AmeriCorps members in meeting all program requirements to complete their term of service successfully. Provide supervision to AmeriCorps members, including performance management by coaching, counseling and implementing the disciplinary procedure (as necessary) to attain retention objectives and program goals.
· Site and Program Support: Develop and oversee productive working partnerships with sites, including Lead Teachers, Club Directors, AmeriCorps Members, and Club staff. Work closely with all partners to ensure open, effective communication and successful implementation of the program model. Work closely with all partners to provide exceptional customer service and ensure open, effective communication, successful implementation, and compliance with the program model and AmeriCorps regulations at the service site.
· Literacy Program Implementation: Supervise and support Lead Teachers in the planning and implementation of literacy programming, ensuring English Language Arts support is delivered with fidelity through IXL Learning and other ELA interventions as assigned and aligned with established program standards to improve student literacy outcomes.
· Program Administration: Ensure compliance with all federal AmeriCorps regulations/ Monitor time sheet completion of AmeriCorps members. Monitor completion of programmatic requirements for all members. Comply with internal processes, policies and timelines including but not limited to internal data management systems.
· Member Experience: Oversee and support the AmeriCorps Member Experience Specialist to ensure that AmeriCorps Members have an optimal experience by providing engaging and relevant training opportunities (monthly) to prepare AmeriCorps Members for life after their service year.
· Training and Development: Provide AmeriCorps members with initial onboarding and ongoing professional development in the Science of Reading and IXL Learning from and in partnership with IXL Learning, Martin County School District, and the Center for Education Innovation. Coordinate and deliver training to strengthen instructional practices and program fidelity. Collaborate with the Training Coordinator to provide development opportunities in youth development, group and behavior management, effective teaching strategies, and progress monitoring to support member success.
· Community Service & Support: Oversee and support the AmeriCorps Member Experience Specialist to ensure that AmeriCorps Members are provided with the opportunity to engage in meaningful service opportunities that provide support to those that need it most in the Martin County community. Opportunities will be based upon an assessment of need through regular and consistent community outreach.
· Travel: Generally speaking, will work out of one of the Club sites every day while ensuring to observe programs and meet with all Lead Teachers, Club Directors, and AmeriCorps members. Will visit school sites as appropriate. Schedule is subject to change depending on the need of the programs and organization. Also, attend relevant site or district functions and other stakeholder groups or meetings. Attend team and program meetings. Attend organization-wide conference calls and training sessions.
· Attendance: Regular, timely attendance to meet organizational needs efficiently and effectively. Work effectively with peers and other staff members across the organization.
· Organizational Outreach: Participates in outreach opportunities by engaging external stakeholders and community members to build awareness of service opportunities.
· Other duties as assigned: Perform assignments and/or other tasks as directed by the Director of Club Operations & Experiences
RELATIONSHIPS
Internal: Maintain contact with program staff to provide technical assistance in matters of financial operations; interact regularly with Director of Club Operations & Experiences, Chief Culture Officer, Human Resources Generalist, Controller, Club Directors, Lead Teachers and Chief Grants, Compliance & Strategy Officer.
External: Maintain contact as needed with external community groups, schools, and others.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
· Bachelor’s Degree required.
· Minimum 3-5 years’ program management and/or program implementation experience, preferably in a non-profit setting.
· Demonstrated proficiency in creating partnerships and working in a collaborative environment.
· Proven interpersonal skills including the ability to build relationships, solve problems, mediate conflict and exercise sound judgment.
· Ability to balance multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced evolving environment.
· Demonstrated professional communication skills characterized by active listening, respectful two-way communication, and timely and results-oriented communication. Public speaking experience preferred.
· Proven ability to adapt to change and innovate through a solution-oriented perspective.
· Experience working with diverse communities and commitment to supporting all members enrolled in our programs.
· Proficiency in MS Office and Excel. Previous database experience preferred. Ability to utilize video conferencing effectively.
· Familiarity with or interest in literacy, education, national service and/or social causes.
· Must have the ability to travel by automobile to locations and/or meetings throughout the county.

Compensation
This position offers an annual salary of $70,000

Monday through Friday a shift would fall between 9:00AM and 7:00PM

Must be willing to commute to all Club and school site locations daily.
