Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing accounting team. This position is ideal for a seasoned accounting professional who enjoys working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and is interested in becoming a long-term member of our organization.
Cannabis industry experience is a plus but not required. Candidates with strong accounting experience from other industries are encouraged to apply.
Position Summary
The Senior Accountant will assist with the day-to-day accounting operations for multiple entities while supporting the Assistant Controller and ownership team. This position requires excellent analytical skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
Mentor, train, and provide ongoing guidance to the Bookkeeper, fostering professional development while ensuring efficient workflow and accurate financial operations in collaboration with the Assistant Controller and ownership.
Initially, this position will work three days per week on-site. Workdays will be determined by the Owner and Assistant Controller based on business needs. There is potential for this position to transition into a full-time role.
Essential Responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly journal entries
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and bank accounts
- Perform month-end and year-end close procedures
- Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting
- Analyze financial data and identify discrepancies
- Maintain fixed asset schedules
- Support inventory accounting and reconciliations
- Assist with cash management and reporting
- Prepare account analyses and balance sheet reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies
- Assist with audit preparation and requests
- Support tax preparation by working with external CPA firms
- Help improve accounting procedures and internal controls
- Work closely with ownership, Assistant Controller, and operational managers
- Assist with special accounting projects as assigned
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, preferred but not required
- Minimum 3 years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas)
- Experience with accounting software/ERP systems
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment
Preferred
- CPA or CPA candidate
- Multi-entity accounting experience
- Manufacturing, distribution, or inventory accounting experience
- Cannabis industry experience (preferred but not required)
- Experience working with multiple companies/entities

Schedule
- Part-Time
- Three days per week
- On-site in Henderson, Nevada
- Workdays determined by the Owner and Assistant Controller
