Sr Accountant | Confidential Search | Greater Cleveland Area

We are partnering with a growing organization in the greater Cleveland area on a confidential search for a Sr Accountant. This is a hands-on, high-impact role for an accounting professional who enjoys accurate reporting, clean processes, thoughtful analysis, and steady collaboration across the business. The role is designed for an experienced individual contributor and does not include direct employee oversight.

What You’ll Do:

· Own recurring accounting activities, including transactions, reconciliations, analyses, and close-related deliverables.
· Prepare journal entries, account support, variance research, and follow-up items with accuracy and urgency.
· Review financial activity for accuracy, consistency, and alignment with accounting standards and internal expectations.
· Turn accounting data into clear, useful reporting and insights for finance leadership.
· Support a strong control environment through documentation, audit support, and thoughtful review practices.
· Act as a trusted accounting resource for process questions, issue resolution, and cross-functional collaboration.
· Look for smart ways to streamline routine work, improve handoffs, and strengthen accounting processes as the business evolves.
· Use accounting systems, reporting tools, and Excel to research activity, validate results, and support timely deliverables.
· Jump in on special projects and evolving accounting priorities as needed.

What You Bring:

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is mandatory.
· 5+ years of relevant accounting experience, ideally in a senior accountant or similar individual contributor role.
· A strong understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and period-end close requirements.
· Hands-on experience with reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, account analysis, and recurring reporting.
· Comfort working in a process-driven environment with documentation, controls, audits, or internal review procedures.
· Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with data, formulas, lookups, and summary tools.
· Experience with accounting systems, ERP platforms, or reporting applications used to support financial operations.
· The ability to manage confidential information, balance priorities, meet deadlines, and produce dependable work independently.
