Position Summary
The Assistant Superintendent / Project Engineer supports successful project execution by coordinating project information, managing technical documentation, assisting with procurement, supporting field operations, and maintaining communication between the office and jobsite. Working closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, and owners, this position helps keep projects organized, on schedule, and moving forward.

Responsibilities
- Support Project Managers and Superintendents throughout all phases of commercial construction projects.
- Participate in project startup activities, assisting with project planning, logistics coordination, procurement tracking, and project setup.
- Prepare, track, and manage RFIs, submittals, ASIs, project correspondence, and project documentation.
- Coordinate communication between Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, consultants, and owners.
- Assist with procurement tracking, subcontract administration, material deliveries, and long-lead item management.
- Monitor project schedules, action items, and project controls while helping remove obstacles impacting project progress.
- Assist with budget tracking, project reporting, billing support, and project documentation.
- Perform regular jobsite visits to support project coordination, quality control, safety, and communication between the field and office.
- Coordinate project closeout activities, including punch lists, warranties, O&M manuals, as-built drawings, and turnover documentation.
- Maintain accurate project management software, logs, and reporting systems.
- Support continuous improvement of project management and field operations processes.
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Construction Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and commercial construction experience.
- Two or more years of commercial construction experience in project engineering, field engineering, project coordination, assistant superintendent, or similar roles preferred.
- Strong understanding of commercial construction methods, sequencing, and project coordination.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, or similar platforms.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to pass required background and drug screening.
- Willing to travel to project sites throughout the region. Most projects are within a 1–2 hour drive of Pendleton, with occasional assignments elsewhere in the Pacific Northwest requiring overnight travel. Company-paid lodging and daily per diem are provided when overnight travel is required.

Schedule
- Full-time
- Monday-Friday
- Typical work hours: 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
- Additional hours as needed to support successful project delivery
Work Location
Based in Pendleton, Oregon, with projects throughout Eastern Oregon and the Pacific Northwest. Most work is performed between regional project sites and our Pendleton office. Most project travel is within a 1–2 hour drive of Pendleton, with occasional overnight assignments at more distant project locations. Company-paid lodging and daily per diem are provided when overnight travel is required.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
