Full Job Description

Reports to Program Director/Manager

Location: Dixon After Hours Performing Arts Academy

Schedule: Part-Time: afternoon/evening hours during school, daytime during summer sessions

The DAH Program Assistant plays a key role in the daily success of the Dixon After Hours Performing Arts Academy. This position is responsible for setting up and serving snacks and meals, helping students dress out for class, leading or supporting pre-class circle time, taking daily attendance, and assisting with behavior tracking and documentation. The Assistant also helps manage classroom flow and transitions, supports teaching staff during instruction, and contributes to a positive learning environment. Additional duties may be assigned by the Program Director or Program Manager as needed. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and passionate about working with youth in a creative and fast-paced environment.

DAILY DUTIES

Daily Operations

● Assist With Student Check-in / Arrival

● Serve Snack Upon Arrival When Assigned

● Support Classroom transitions and maintain hallway supervision

● Help Manage Daily Schedules

● Communicate effectively with program staff and campers.

● Distribute and collect supplies

● Provide a classroom setup and clean up

Student Attendance/Discipline

● Track daily attendance/absences

● Report & Document Discipline and properly report it to the Program Manager

● Assists teaching staff with student discipline during structured class time by de-escalating disruptions, redirecting behavior, or notifying the program manager or director when necessary.

Student/Classroom Support

● Ensure a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment

● Support student behavior management under the guidance of the teaching staff

● Escort Students to restrooms or water breaks as needed

Supplies

● Keep Supplies Organized at all times and maintain program storage

● Log Borrowed Clothing Properly and Explain Procedures

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
