Full Job Description

Company Overview

Harbor Hall, Inc. is dedicated to providing comprehensive treatment services for individuals affected by substance-related disorders. Our facilities offer residential treatment, outpatient care, and transitional living programs, all guided by evidence-based clinical practices to ensure personalized and effective support for each individual.

Job Summary:

This role is critical to maintaining a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment for clients and staff.

The Chef’s assistant duties will include supporting daily kitchen operations, including dishwashing, food prep, lunch cleanup, and dinner setup.

This ideal candidate is dependable, detail-orientated, and ready to work in a structured, mission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities Kitchen:

Wash dishes, kitchen utensils, and cooking equipment
Assist with preparing lunch, including ingredient prep and basic cooking tasks
Help clean and reset the kitchen and dining areas after lunch
Set up for dinner service, including organizing supplies and workstations
Maintain cleanliness and follow food safety guidelines at all times
Work efficiently and cooperatively with the kitchen staff

Requirements:

Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs
Strong work ethic and attention to detail
Good communication and teamwork skills
Must be reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions
Previous kitchen or food service experience is a plus, but not required
Ability to work independently and complete tasks efficiently within 1–2 hours and establish and implement a cleaning schedule.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and hygiene
Respectful of privacy and confidentiality in a healthcare/recovery environment
Must pass a background check and any required health clearances

Work Environment:

Calm, residential-style medical setting with supportive staff
Exposure to cleaning supplies and occasional biohazard precautions
Requires light physical effort (bending, lifting, standing, walking)
