Full Job Description

Are you an experienced and professional bookkeeper (full cycle) who enjoys working for a well-established, small company?

Desert Sunglass is a wholesale eyewear supplier in business in Arizona for over 59 years. We are seeking an experienced bookkeeper (full cycle) responsible for all bookkeeping and accounting.

The ideal candidate is one who has successfully managed the accounting function for a small to mid-size business with at least 5 years of experience.

Position is in-office (Tempe, near ASU)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Full Spectrum Accounting
Financial reporting. P&L and Balance Sheet.
Daily invoicing.
Sales rep commission processing (monthly). Preparing monthly sales commission reports and processing payments for 1099 reps.
Journal entries and bank reconciliations. General ledger accounting.
Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable. Run vendor checks.
Some HR duties
Manage all employee payroll (using ADP).
End of month close and reports
End-of-year close and financial preparation for our accountants. Prepare books for outside CPA.
Coordinate end-of-year inventory.
Cash flow management for the company.
Provide sound advice and recommendations to ownership.

Human Resource Duties: Will be involved with aspects of recruitment, tracking and coordination of employee reviews and compensation, and employee benefits evaluation/administration.

Keeps and maintains the employee time cards for hourly employees and the Paid Time Off (PTO) calendar.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

5+ years’ experience as accounting manager, controller or full cycle bookkeeper.
Associates degree or higher in accounting
Mid to advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUP’s and IF formulas.
General ledger experience using a sub ledger system.
Full spectrum accounting
Month-end and year end closing.
Solid business knowledge and experience with reporting and analysis.
Computer skills of all programs used by the organization, i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel.
Learn and use the company’s proprietary EPR system called FACTS. This is a module-based system.
Strong attention to detail, planning and organization skills.
Positive demeanor and attitude. High character, very trustworthy, enjoys and thrives working in a small company environment. Reports to owner.

Job Type: Part-Time, Hourly. 32 hours per week.
