Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, managing front desk operations, scheduling appointments, and supporting medical administrative functions. This role requires excellent communication skills, familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, and a strong understanding of medical terminology and office procedures. Prior experience in a medical or dental office is preferred to ensure seamless integration into our clinic environment. The Medical Receptionist plays a vital role in maintaining efficient clinic operations and delivering exceptional patient service.

Responsibilities

Greet patients warmly and professionally, ensuring a positive first impression
Manage appointment scheduling using EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks
Verify patient insurance coverage and perform insurance verification procedures
Collect payments
Maintain accurate and organized medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Handle multi-line phone systems with professionalism, providing excellent patient service and appointment coordination
Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, supporting health information management
Assist with intake procedures, including patient registration and updating demographic information
Manage front desk duties such as filing, faxing, photocopying, and data entry using Microsoft Office tools
Support office management tasks including appointment reminders, follow-up calls, and documentation review
Ensure compliance with HIPAA guidelines and confidentiality standards at all times

Skills

Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar platforms
Experience with insurance verification processes including Medicare and other payers
Excellent clerical skills including typing (10 key typing), filing, data entry, and document management
Exceptional customer service skills with professional phone etiquette
Ability to handle multi-tasking efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards related to health information management
Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
Previous clinic or hospital experience is advantageous for understanding healthcare workflows

Our Medical Receptionist will be an integral part of our healthcare team by providing outstanding administrative support that ensures smooth clinic operations while delivering compassionate patient care.

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
