IT Support Specialist / MSP Help Desk Technician

Full-Time | Monday–Friday | $46,000–$54,000/year, depending on experience

CyberSOLUTIONS is seeking an experienced, dependable IT Support Specialist to provide technical support to our small and mid-sized business clients throughout Maine.

This is a hands-on support role for someone who is comfortable troubleshooting a wide variety of Windows, Microsoft 365, networking, hardware, and end-user issues. Our clients include professional service firms and other organizations that depend heavily on their technology, so strong communication skills and good judgment are just as important as technical ability.

This is not a call-center position. You will work directly with clients, troubleshoot problems from beginning to end, document your work, and escalate more complex issues when appropriate.

Responsibilities

Provide remote and onsite technical support to business clients
Troubleshoot Windows 10 and Windows 11 workstations
Support Microsoft 365, Outlook, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Office applications
Assist with user accounts, password resets, MFA, and Microsoft 365 administration
Diagnose hardware, software, printer, scanner, and peripheral issues
Troubleshoot basic networking issues involving DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi, switches, and Internet connectivity
Set up and deploy new PCs and laptops
Install and configure software and business applications
Assist with email security and suspicious-email investigations
Perform basic server and Active Directory troubleshooting
Work with remote monitoring and management tools
Maintain accurate client and technical documentation
Communicate clearly with clients regarding issues, status, and resolution
Escalate complex server, networking, security, or application issues when appropriate

Qualifications

2+ years of professional IT support experience preferred
Strong Windows desktop troubleshooting skills
Experience supporting Microsoft 365 environments
Understanding of basic TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP, and Wi-Fi
Experience with Active Directory and Windows Server environments is preferred
MSP or managed-services experience is a strong plus
Ability to troubleshoot problems independently and logically
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Professional and patient when working with end users
Ability to prioritize multiple support requests
Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for occasional onsite client visits

Certifications are welcome but are not required. We place more value on practical troubleshooting ability, professionalism, and experience than on certifications alone.

“I can't access the shared drive.”
“My computer suddenly became extremely slow.”
“I received a suspicious email.”
“The printer worked yesterday but doesn't today.”
“I can't sign into Microsoft 365.”
“Everyone else can access the file except me.”

We are looking for someone who can calmly work through the problem, determine the cause, resolve it when possible, and know when escalation is appropriate.

Schedule

Full-time, Monday through Friday, primarily during normal business hours.

This position is based in the Auburn, Maine area and includes a combination of remote support and occasional onsite work at client locations.

Compensation

$46,000–$54,000 per year, depending on experience and technical ability.
