Full Job Description

Title: Registered Nurse – Operating Room
Ambulatory Surgical Services
Location: Beaverton, OR
Hours: Part-time (0.75 FTE), or Full time
Schedule: 8-10 hour shifts, 1-3 days/week

Job Summary:

Seeking a per diem Registered Nurse to join our Surgical Services team! Great opportunity for someone who wants day shift hours.

Preop/PACU RN/OR circulator

Perioperative RN for ambulatory surgical center with 2 OR's specializing in hand and plastic surgery. Currently as needed 1-2 times week (surgery days are Mon, Wed and Friday) day shift.

Two years ASC, ED, ICU, Short Stay, and operating room experience preferred.

Job Type: Part-time

Overview of daily job duties

Checking in patients for procedures including IV starts, chart preparation, patient preparation and, at times, sterile field set-up
Patient recovery from procedures (PACU)
Perform pre-operative and follow-up appointments for all procedure types
Demonstrates appropriate nursing management and intervention preoperatively and postoperatively.
Provides safe medication administration.
Reports significant patient information to medical staff appropriately.
Initiates and follows procedure protocols
Circulate operating room procedures

Skills/Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited nursing program with current state licensure
Must be ACLS certified (or willing to become certified upon hire)
Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
Able to effectively communicate with all members of staff, both verbal and written
Ability to communicate with patient, their family members and/or caretakers
Injectable experience a plus (but not required)
Current Oregon RN licensure
BLS CPR certification
Effective interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
Must have the flexibility to alter assignments on short notice and work with diverse personalities and changing situations
Ability to work as a role model for staff, demonstrating problem solving skills and nursing best practices
