Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide exceptional care and support to individuals with diverse needs. In this vital role, you will empower clients to live as independently as possible while ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. Responsibilities

Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
Monitor patients’ health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes promptly
Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and compliance
Support clients during meal preparation, cooking, and nutritional planning to promote healthy eating habits
Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning, laundry, and organization of living spaces
Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices to safely transfer residents with mobility challenges
Document care activities accurately in accordance with agency policies and state regulations

Requirements

Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred
Knowledge of patient care techniques including CPR, first aid, Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, memory care, and hospice care
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or other disabilities is desirable
Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks required for resident transfers or mobility assistance
Strong observation skills for patient monitoring and patient safety oversight
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of client information
Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills; patience and empathy are essential
