Full Job Description

The Payer Enrollment Specialist is a member of the quickly growing ECS Application Team and will be responsible for building relationships with insurance carriers from initial outreach to achieving ‘participation’ status through diligent follow-up procedures. This person needs to be well organized, able to multi-task, meet deadlines and interface professionally with ECS staff, as well as our individual clients and additional third-party payers. The ideal candidate would be an analytical thinker, strong communicator and possess a positive attitude.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Assist in gathering all necessary information for the successful set-up of new clients, groups and providers by professionally acquiring information from office staff.
Compiling and maintaining current and accurate data for all payers/products in the ECS credentialing database
Assist Application Team Manager in completing initial outreach to insurance carriers to obtain accurate contact information, application forms, instructions, and current contract/participation statuses.
Accessing and navigating PECOS, Medicaid, NPPES, CAQH and additional sites/portals as needed.
Adhering to detailed instructions regarding the application procedures for enrollment and entering this information into the credentialing database.
Acting as first point of contact for insurance carriers; frequent email and phone communication.
Assist in completing tasks and workflows to successfully track follow-up efforts and statuses of applications submitted.
Interfacing regularly with ECS Teams regarding credentialing related inquiries and operations issues.
Maintaining confidentiality with regards to any disciplinary actions or malpractice suits.
Assisting the Application Team Manager with additional administrative tasks, as assigned.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required
1 year of relevant provider enrollment experience preferred.
Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications and internet resources
Successful experience demonstrating the use of interpersonal skills necessary to communicate and gather info from all levels of personnel.
Quick learner; proven ability to research and problem solve effectively.
Proven ability to organize, prioritize and complete work, in a fast-paced environment, according to pre-established guidelines.
Must be reliable and possess extreme attention to detail and documentation.
Strong customer service orientation.
Must be able to work independently and as a contributive member of the Credentialing Team.

Physical Requirements:

Necessitates fine motor skills; occasionally requiring pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying up to 15 lbs. Must be able to use a computer, including keyboard and telephone, during peak activity periods, in excess of 8 hours per day and/or 40 hours per week. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential job functions.

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
