Full Job Description

Professional Ambulance is seeking an experienced Customer Service agent to join its fast-paced, highly functional administrative team....

Candidates for this role should feel comfortable working independely and will be expected to carry significant supervisory responsibilities.

Call-taking staff at Professional Ambulance will be responsible for:

Recognizing and triaging medical transportation requests made on behalf of our customers and patients.
Developing an understanding of health insurance reimbursement policies, and maintaining records in the company's dispatch and billing platforms.
Dispatch staff are Professional Ambulance's first interaction with patients, referral sources, and community partners. Communicating clearly and delivering strong customer service are a must!
During certain "shift-change" periods, this role may be responsible for assisting with and supervising EMTs/Paramedics with operational challenges.
Dispatchers should expect to work in an office setting, where team-work and camaraderie drive daily success. Communicating calmly with colleagues and taking responsibility for loosely defined responsibilities help improve efficiency.
Daily tasks include call-taking, assigning of emergency and non-emergency medical transportation resources, other simple administrative tasks, and coordinating other EMS operations.

Required Knowledge: Candidates applying as an EMS Dispatcher must be at least 21 years or older, posses a healthcare related associate's degree, and be able to produce a satisfactory criminal background report.

Experience working as an EMT or EMS Dispatcher is preferred: Those who do not posses an understanding of Basic/Advanced Life Support concepts, simple medical terminology, and EMS operations must be willing to complete a rigorous on-the-job training program. Customer service experience will be considered as a replacement to EMS expertise.
Candidates should have strong computers skills so that they are capable of using Windows based computer-aided dispatch (CAD) programs, GPS tools, and other IT systems.

Life-style and Compensation: Dispatch staff work 9-12 hour shifts, depending on preference. Scheduling is flexible and depends on the candidate. That said, dispatch staff will be required to work some nights, weekends, and holidays. Availability and commitment are a must!

Hourly wages are subject to change due to experience, certifications, availability, etc.
