Overview
Join our dynamic culinary team as a Sushi Chef, where your passion for Japanese cuisine and mastery of sushi preparation will elevate our dining experience. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your skills in a fast-paced, fine dining environment, delivering authentic sushi dishes that delight our guests. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality sushi, supervising kitchen operations, and ensuring food safety standards are maintained at all times. Your expertise in food production, menu planning, and team management will be vital to creating memorable culinary moments for our patrons.

Duties

Prepare and assemble a variety of sushi dishes with precision, artistry, and consistency, adhering to established recipes and presentation standards
Oversee daily kitchen operations related to sushi preparation, ensuring efficiency and quality control throughout the food production process
Supervise and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative environment focused on continuous improvement and culinary excellence
Manage inventory levels of seafood, rice, seaweed, and other ingredients to minimize waste while maintaining freshness and availability
Ensure strict compliance with food safety regulations and sanitation standards across all aspects of sushi handling and preparation
Collaborate with menu planners to develop innovative sushi offerings that align with current culinary trends and customer preferences
Coordinate with the catering and banquet teams to provide sushi services for special events and large-scale functions

Requirements

Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within fine dining or high-volume restaurant settings
Demonstrated supervisory or team management experience in a culinary environment
Strong knowledge of food safety practices, dietary restrictions, and proper handling of raw seafood
Extensive background in food production, kitchen management, and catering services within the food industry
Skilled in menu planning, inventory control, and shift management to ensure seamless restaurant operations
Excellent cooking skills with an emphasis on sushi techniques such as knife skills, rice preparation, fish filleting, and presentation artistry
Ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining high standards of hospitality and customer service
