Job Title: Journeyman Meat Cutter

About Us:
We are a locally owned meat shop dedicated to producing high-quality, handcrafted meats. Our team takes pride in making award-winning brats, sausages, bacon, and a wide variety of premium fresh cuts. We focus on craftsmanship, consistency, and delivering a product our customers can truly taste the difference in.

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Journeyman Meat Cutter to join our team. This role requires someone skilled in cutting fresh meats, with a solid understanding of meat science and animal anatomy. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and eager to continue learning and growing in the craft.

Key Responsibilities:

Cut, trim, and prepare a variety of fresh meats (beef, pork, poultry, and specialty items)
Follow proper fabrication techniques and maintain high product standards
Assist in the production of sausages, brats, bacon, and other value-added products
Maintain a clean and organized work environment in compliance with food safety standards
Work collaboratively with team members to meet production goals
Provide excellent customer service when needed

Qualifications:

Previous experience as a meat cutter or butcher (journeyman level preferred)
Basic understanding of meat science and animal anatomy
Ability to use knives and cutting equipment safely and efficiently
Strong attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship
Reliable, punctual, and a team player
Willingness to learn new techniques and products

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly
Ability to stand for 8+ hours per shift
Comfortable working in a cold environment
