Position: Warehouse Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt, Full Time
Immediate Supervisor: Director of Operations
Employees Supervised: Lead Warehouse Associate, Warehouse Associates, Food Distribution Supervisor, Maintenance Associate, and Inventory coordinator
Position Summary: Directs and coordinates all operations of the warehouse for wise and efficient use of resources. Lead development, implementation, enforcement, and evaluation of optimal product receiving handling and storage processes. Monitor, coach and remove obstacles for teams as well as set expectations and hold staff accountable to policies and procedures, equipment utilization and inventory protocols.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Overseas and manages all warehouse operations to ensure the effective and efficient utilization of resources.
· Provides guidance and support to warehouse teams by monitoring performance, coaching staff, and addressing operational challenges.
· Establishes clear expectations, ensures adherence to policies and procedures, and upholds standards for equipment utilization and inventory management.
· Analyze operational capacity and recommend tactical process improvements, staffing requirements, and long-range strategic investments in assets.
· Monitor and analyze performance data including inventory losses, production goals, safety reports, attendance records; identifies problems, determines causes and implements effective changes to improve results.
· Develop goals, performance metrics, and performance management processes for warehouse operations.
· Monitor and ensure integrity of products and food safety standards are met. Ensure all perishable products are inspected for quality and are properly rotated and stored under correct conditions.
· Ensure facility and equipment is in constant compliance with all Federal and State OSHA, HACCP, USDA, and AIB requirements.
· Oversee the maintenance associate who will maintain and schedule all machinery and equipment maintenance.
· Evaluate equipment utilization and maintenance records and make data-based recommendations on equipment retirement, purchasing and other strategies.
· Maintain safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures.
· Monitor and maintain a housekeeping and sanitation program that follows Health Department codes and regulations and Feeding America standards. Document and file related inspection reports.
· Collaborate as needed with the food sourcing manager on scheduling all delivery appointments and incoming donations.
· Work with Inventory Coordinator to maintain the accuracy of the physical inventory. Offer support on end-of-year inventories and monthly periodic inventories, as determined.
· Implement and maintain safety policies and programs developed for warehouse operations.
· Support the Volunteer Department as needed to ensure HCFB volunteer sorting activities are rewarding as well as effective and efficient.
· Serves as a member of the Disaster Response Team.
· Oversee the invoice process for all vendors associated with the warehouse department.
· Ensure that invoices are received and accurately match the terms of the agreements or contracts.
· Track and maintain records of all invoices for the warehouse, ensuring timely processing and payment.
· Collaborate with the finance department to ensure invoices are paid on schedule and discrepancies are resolved.
· Monitor and report on any outstanding or overdue invoices to management.
· Harry Chapin Food Bank is a “second responder” in the event of a community emergency or disaster. During an emergency or disaster, and only after an employee’s personal responsibilities are under control, are employees asked to report for work to be available to help in ways that may be different from their normal work responsibilities. In addition, employees may be temporarily transferred to other food banks (travel expenses paid) to assist them in recovering from the disaster.
· Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for how inventory should be handled, tracked, and stored. Make sure inventory coordinators are trained on these processes.
· Implement regular inventory audits (e.g., weekly or monthly) to ensure accuracy and identify any discrepancies early.
· Ensure that inventory coordinators follow FIFO to minimize waste and reduce expired or obsolete stock. Perform other related duties and assignments as required.
Qualifications:
Specific to Position
· Associate degree or five years’ minimum experience in warehouse management required.
· Knowledge of material handling equipment preferred.
· In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations.
· Good verbal and written communication skills.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills and organizational skills.
· Computer literate in Microsoft applications.
· Honesty, integrity, and commitment to fighting hunger in Southwest Florida
· Ability to relate effectively with other staff, volunteers, agency representatives and the public.
· Must have a clear understanding of and ability to articulate the mission of the HCFB.
· Ability to complete work in an accurate, effective, and timely manner.
· Ability to perform physical labor as necessary to assist in achieving HCFB Mission.
· Valid Florida CDL driver’s license.
· Forklift training and experience “train the forklift trainer experience preferred”.
· Serve safe management certified preferred.

Working Conditions:
This position requires the employee to work occasionally on weekends. Work is performed in a hot, humid warehouse most of the day, with a significant amount of walking on concrete surfaces. Work conditions during the summer months can be very hot, and during the winter very cold. Workspace could be very dusty, and on occasions can be noisy due to the traffic of motorized vehicles operated in the building. Work involves lifting, bending, stooping, pulling, picking up and moving objects up to 30 to 50 pounds.

Pay: $54,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
