Restoration Field Technician

BTN Restoration Group — Medina, Ohio Full-time $18–$26/hour

When a family's pipe bursts at 2am, somebody has to show up, stay calm, and fix it. That's this job. We're having our busiest year yet and we need one more good person on the truck.

Who we are

BTN Restoration Group is a water damage mitigation and mold remediation company based in Medina, serving homeowners and businesses across Northeast Ohio. We handle water damage, fire and smoke, mold, sewage backups, and bio cleanups — the days nobody plans for. Most of our work comes to us through insurance claims and referrals, and our reputation is the whole business, so we do things right the first time.

The job

You'll be on the front line of real emergencies: pulling wet carpet and drywall, setting up drying equipment, running containment on mold jobs, and walking stressed-out customers through what happens next. The core of the job is simple, and we'll teach it fast: show up, tear out the wet material that can't be saved, set the drying equipment, and monitor it until it's dry. You'll be running jobs start to finish within your first few weeks — not your first year.

What you'll do

Respond to water, sewage, and mold emergencies during your on-call weeks — nights and weekends included
Perform demo and tear-out, set up drying equipment, and take daily moisture readings
Run mold remediation, sewage backups, and bio cleanups with proper containment and protective gear — sewage is part of this work, and you should know that going in
Document every job with photos, readings, and notes (we use Encircle — we'll train you)
Keep your company vehicle stocked, clean, and ready to roll
Communicate clearly and kindly with customers who are having one of the worst days of their year

What we need from you

A valid driver's license with a clean record
Reliability — you show up, on time, including when you're on call
Physically able to do the work: lifting equipment, crawl spaces, attics, demo
Calm, clear communication under pressure

Nice to have (we'll train the right person)

Restoration, construction, or trades experience
IICRC certification (WRT, AMRT) is a plus

Schedule

Monday–Friday standard hours, plus on-call in one-week rotations: one week on, one week off. During your on week, you are the emergency response — if the phone rings at 2am, you're going. During your off week, your nights and weekends are your own. We're honest about this part: emergencies don't keep business hours, and this job isn't for everyone. The people who like it really like it — no two days are the same.

Pay and what you get

$18–$26/hour depending on experience — above the going rate for this work in Ohio
A fully stocked company vehicle
A real growth path: field tech → crew chief → writing estimates and managing claims. The field is the starting line, not the finish line.
