Full Job Description

The First Bristol Corporation is looking for an Assistant General Manager with a strong background in Hotel Operations and maintaining/developing a culture that exudes our core values. The ideal candidate will have a flexible schedule and be able to lead a team providing the light and warmth of hospitality.

Job Title: Assistant General Manager
Department: Administrative/Executive
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Assistant General Manager is responsible for all aspects of operations at the
hotel, from day-to-day staff management to guest relations. The AGM is an
ambassador for the hotel and provides leadership and strategic planning to all
departments in support of our service culture, maximized operational performance
and guest satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Oversee the operations of all departments including scheduling, staff relations, meetings and communication.
Responsible for the completion of training programs and team coaching.
Review/admin payroll for hotel.
Work with sales and hotel administration staff by gathering required guest information.
Responsible for superior guest service and guest satisfaction as measured through the Stay Experience Platform.

Responsible for the success of special projects and promotions as they relate to the various hotel departments.
Coordinate all special guest programs, amenities, arrangements, etc. between all departments (Sales, Front Desk, F&B, Housekeeping, and Shuttle Service), to ensure flawless execution of guest expectations.
Knowledgeable in the hotel’s Property Management System.
Ensure follow through on all issues and discrepancies as pertaining to Guest Services.
Direct departmental meetings as necessary.
Uphold and enforce key control standards.
Complete and print all required daily/weekly/monthly reports, records and logs as necessary.
Work with and manage the hotel’s operating budget – identify areas in which upgrades are needed, or reductions can be made.
Assist with Accounts Payable as directed.
Relocate guests to nearby hotels as necessary.
Verify daily rate and availability.
Handle all administrative tasks pertaining to the various hotel departments.
Serve as Manager on Duty.
Brief Ownership as necessary.
Conduct appraisals based on performance for potential merit increases.
Confer with GM and department heads to review activity, operating & sales reports.
Maintain records of financial transactions reported by various departments.
Perform daily and weekly property inspections.
Ensure property grounds, common areas and work areas are maintained to standard and that

all safety equipment and conditions are up to code.

Assist in turning rooms as necessary.
Respond to all guest and employee emergencies.
Inspect rooms for and greet VIP arrivals.
Responsible for administering corrective action to associates when necessary.
Agree to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays to meet the demands of the hotel. Cover Front Desk shifts if no other staff is available (call outs/ time off requests). Attend mandatory meetings & hotel functions. Comply with all company standards and policies, as established in the employee handbook. Lead morning Huddles/stand up activities. Resolve Frequent Stay Program point stay discrepancies. Respond to Customer Care/Guest Voice Alerts - complaint resolution. Organize Employee Appreciation Events/Celebrations Other duties as required.

EDUCATION REQUIRED: Associates Degree, or High School Diploma or equivalent plus 1year experience; or Combination of education, training and experience.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 1 year experience. Previous Hotel experience preferred.

SKILLS, AND CAPABILITIES REQUIRED: Bilingual preferred. Leadership Skills.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: The Assistant General Manager is responsible for all hotel employees in the absence of the General Manager. Must be able to motivate and develop the staff.

EQUIPMENT TO BE USED: Office Equipment Hotel and Financial computers and software. Vacuum Cleaning supplies; materials and cleaning solutions.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to stand, sit, bend, stoop, and walk and possess the physical stamina to work at a high energy level for periods in excess of 8 hours daily. Must be able to talk and hear. Lift and carry up to 30 lbs.

TYPICAL MENTAL DEMANDS: Must be detail-oriented, customer-focused and able to multi-task. Must be able to use sound judgment in decision making which have significant financial and legal implications on the business. Must be able to act in a leadership capacity during emergency situations including hotel evacuations and life-threatening instances. The ability to: listen, read, write, and speak, both clearly, and effectively ensures that the lines of communication are open between the Associates and guests at the hotel; and is absolutely essential. Customer service is our priority, so it is imperative that all Associates communicate to the best of their ability. The ability to perform basic mathematical functions: adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. The ability to apply the use of common sense & understanding in order to carry out instructions, whether in written, oral or diagram form. Must possess conflict resolution skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Responsibilities are performed in close proximity of people. Exposure to detergents and cleaning solvents. Employees are expected to comply with existing safety procedures. The ability to work in close proximity with others comfortably, while multitasking in a fastpaced environment. Hospitality environment requires polite, professional conduct and communication at all times. Must be able to work a flexible schedule; days, nights, weekends, and/or holidays as needed.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
