Full Job Description

THE ROLE

We're looking for a Creative Specialist who can shoot — video first, with strong photography and drone skills behind it. You'll be in a different home almost every day, turning empty rooms into listings that actually move, and working directly with the agents who depend on us to win their next listing.

The right person has an eye for detail, handles clients with genuine professionalism, and treats feedback as fuel. Most of all, you care about the craft — great work in this business starts with someone who actually loves making it.

Bluegrass Real Estate Media is a full-service real estate media partner. We produce photography, video, drone, 3D tours, listing websites, and print for agents across Central Kentucky — consistently, and at a standard the market notices. Our project managers, creatives, and editors work as an extension of our clients' teams.

We're built on relationships and a refusal to stand still. We keep innovating so that marketing is never the reason our client loses a sale.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Tell the story of a property. Capture what makes each home distinct and give buyers a reason to feel something before they ever walk through the door.
Own the client relationship on site. Show up prepared, read what the agent needs, and deliver an experience that earns the next booking.
Stay organized. Manage your calendar, gear, files, and turnaround times so nothing slips and delivery stays fast.
Grow the brand. Help create social, BTS, and short-form content that shows the market what we do.
Level up the team. Share what you know and help raise the ceiling on everyone's video and photo work.
Make a real impact. We're growing quickly and this role has direct influence on how that growth looks.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Real creative experience — professional, freelance, or as a dedicated independent creative — with a portfolio that shows it.
Refined photography, videography, and drone skills, with a particular emphasis on video.
A valid Part 107 drone certification, or the ability to earn one within four weeks of starting.
Professionalism and excellent customer service instincts — you're easy to work with and clients notice.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making under real deadlines.
Composure in a fast-paced environment where plans change.
Obsessive attention to detail.
Kindness and empathy, on and off the clock.
A growth mindset — you take feedback well and keep sharpening the craft.
Consistency, discipline, and self-motivation.
A valid driver's license and reliable transportation you can use for the job.

BONUS POINTS

Real estate, marketing/sales, client directing, or business operations experience.
Social media management experience and creative input.
Comfort shooting stabilized video on a 3-axis gimbal.
Proficiency with DSLR/mirrorless systems and lenses.
Personal branding work — studio lighting, flash, and portrait photography.

PAY & GROWTH PATH

Your rate moves with your capability, not your tenure. The path is defined up front.

Training: $20/hr - While you're onboarding and shooting alongside a lead creative.
Running solo: $25/hr - Once you're cleared to run shoots independently.
Video certified: $28/hr - Once you've completed video certification.
Beyond: Up from there - Raises based on performance, reliability, and the quality of your work.

HOURS & SCHEDULE

Expect roughly 25–40 hours per week, depending on shoot volume.
Real estate is seasonal. Winter is slower — during those months we work to keep everyone at a minimum of about 25 hours per week.
Core schedule is Monday–Friday, with flexibility needed for occasional evenings and weekends.
Overtime is paid for any hours worked beyond 40 in a week.
Exact hours follow the needs of the business and the projects on the board.

PAY, MILEAGE & TIME OFF

Paid semi-monthly — on the 15th and the last day of each month.
Mileage reimbursed at the current IRS standard rate, tracked in MileIQ and paid on the matching paycheck. You're also paid your hourly rate while driving between shoots.
Paid time off accrues from your first hour worked — 0.0385 hours of PTO for every hour you work, which comes out to about two weeks per year at a full-time pace.
PTO becomes available to request after 90 days of employment, and you can carry up to 40 unused hours into the following year.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Moving between worksites and around properties throughout the day.
Lifting and adjusting equipment up to 50 pounds.
Repetitive motion of the arms, wrists, hands, and fingers.
Operating light machinery and electronic equipment.
Assessing the accuracy and thoroughness of work produced.
Driving to job sites and standing for extended periods.
