Full Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Laser Operator/ Programmer, Maintenance Technician to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years experience and be responsible for operating laser cutting machines to produce high-quality components from various materials, ensuring precision and adherence to specifications. This role requires a strong understanding of machining processes, attention to detail, maintain, repair and troublshootand to avoid downtime and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Respoinsibilities

Set up & operate laser cutting machines to produce parts according to engineering specifications.
Nest laser programs with software to maximize material utilization.
Understand start up and shut down procedures
Set up and calibrate machines using precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
Perform quality inspection to ensure specifications
Monitor machine operations and make adjustments as necessary to maintain quality standards.
Troubleshoot equipment issues, replace worn parts and perform routine repairs and coordiante major repairs when needed.
Monitor and adjust cutting performance and utilization
Perform routine maintenance on laser equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot issues and improve processes.
Sort, count and stack parts or materials, when necessary
Perform lens adjustments as required
Complete file transfer from engineering to laser program
Utilize forklifts and cranes for the safe handling of materials and finished products.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Document production data and maintain accurate records of machine settings and outputs.
Assist with any other duties as assigned

Requirements

Proven experience in operating laser cutting machines for a minimum of 3 years.
Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication processes is required.
Experience with laser nesting software & general programming experience is a plus!
Proficient in using precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
Experience with Amada lasers is plus!
Ability to operate forklifts and cranes safely; certification may be required.
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Basic math, computer, and written/verbal communication skills
Understand prints, process sheets, nesting paperwork, and other documents
General knowledge power and hand tools, including tape measure and caliper
General manufacturing experience and knowledge of different materials; specifically sheet metal
