Full Job Description

Lead Automated Gate and Commercial Door Installer

We are currently looking to hire a full-time access control, gate operator and commercial door installer.

We are a union shop and pay is based on union wages as well as union benefits.

Minimum rate is $34.00 per hour.

Qualifications

- Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in all areas of the job description

- Must be able to install, repair, and maintain various types of doors, docks, roll up doors, gates and access control equipment.

- Must have knowledge to be able to perform site assessment, operating power & hand tools, working at heights, as well as ensuring safety compliance.

- Must have strong mechanical and electrical aptitude

- Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and electrical diagrams

-Knowledge of low-voltage wiring and basic programming for access systems

-Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

-Must be able to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in various conditions

-Must be able to work independently as well as part of a crew on commercial and residential sites

-Ensure all installations meet safety codes and manufacturer standards

- Must have knowledge of UL325 and ASTM F2200 Safety Standards

- Must be able to configure and program access control systems

- Must have prior experience with Automated Gate Systems such as Maximum Controls, Door King, Liftmaster, HySecurity, Chamberlin, Customline or other Slide and Swing Gate Operators

- Must have prior experience with EDI and Liftmaster Loop Detection Systems

- Must have prior experience with “contact” Miller Edge Sensors or the like

- Must have prior experience with “non-contact sensors” thru-beam photo eyes and reflective photo eyes (Omron,IRB RET, Secolarm etc.) or the like

- Must have prior experience with saw cutting inductive loops

- Must have prior experience with installation of Fire Department KNOX switches

- Must have prior experience with establishing gate operator foundations / footings, and in-ground installation of concrete footings for card reader / keypad stanchions

-Must have prior experience with laying conduit and running wire

- Must be able to to test and troubleshoot systems to ensure proper functionality

- Provide exceptional customer service and support

- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards

- Maintain accurate records of installations and services performed

- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, blueprints and manuals

- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

- Effective communication and interpersonal skills

- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

- Must be proficient in Welding, certification a plus

- Basic understanding of electrical systems and components

- IT Networking Configuration

- AFA, IDEA, Certified Automatic Gate Operator Installer (CAOGI) preferred but not mandatory. Having prior CAOGI certification a plus

- OSHA 10 or 30 Certification a plus
