Full Job Description

Medical Assistant – Full-Time

Plastic Surgery Office | South Tampa

This is a full-time position (approximately 33 (minimum)-40 hours per week) with hours scheduled based on patient volume and practice needs. $20/hr plus benefits, 401k

We are a busy plastic and reconstructive surgery practice in South Tampa, specializing in both cosmetic and reconstructive procedures. Our team is dedicated to providing exceptional patient care, and we are seeking an experienced, compassionate, and hardworking full-time Medical Assistant to join our practice.

Who We’re Looking For:

We want a team player who:

* Thrives in a small-office environment and works well with others.

* Has strong medical knowledge and excellent communication skills.

* Can build rapport with patients discuss procedures

* Has experience with EMR systems, specifically Nextech, and is familiar with Mirror/Visia/Canfield software.

* Is collaborative, proactive, and eager to assist as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Private practice experience is highly desired.

* Insurance and coding knowledge is a plus

* Strong computer proficiency and adaptability to new systems.

* Commitment to continued education and professional growth.

* Minimum of 1 year of previous Medical Assistant experience in a medical office is required

* Previous plastic surgery, dermatology, cosmetic surgery, or aesthetics experience is preferred

Responsibilities:

The Medical Assistant will be responsible for a variety of clinical and administrative duties, including:

Rooming patients and preparing them for examination or treatment
Assisting patients with post-operative garments and education
Assisting the Physician and Nurse Practitioner during injectable treatments and procedures
Turning over and preparing treatment rooms between patients
Sterilizing instruments and maintaining sterilization protocols in accordance with office procedures
Scanning laboratory results and medical records into patient charts
Conducting post-operative follow-up calls to patients
Assisting with laundry and maintaining a clean, organized clinical environment
Performing general back-office administrative tasks
Ordering and maintaining medical and office supplies
Monitoring and checking inventory on a monthly basis
Supporting the clinical team as needed to ensure excellent patient care

Required Availability:

Candidates must be available to work the following schedule:

Monday: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Tuesday: 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Wednesday: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Thursday: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Friday: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
