COMPANY OVERVIEW

Cement distribution plays a critical role in supporting U.S. infrastructure, commercial development, and manufacturing supply chains. SESCO is actively expanding its distribution network through new terminals, satellite locations, and strategic partnerships while evaluating opportunities for organic growth and acquisitions to strengthen its national footprint. Warehouse Supervisor

Department: Warehouse/Logistics

Reports To: Terminal Manager

FLSA Status: Exempt

Location: 6035 Diana Toledo Almeida Drive, Gibsonton, FL 33534

Position Summary

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the physical and system control of all inventory on site — raw materials, finished goods, spare parts, and consumables. This role owns the receiving of all incoming materials and the dispatch of finished goods to customers, and is accountable for the accuracy and timeliness of the Goods Receipt (GR) and Goods Issue (GI) processes in SAP. Success in this role means inventory records match physical stock, materials are available when production needs them, and customer shipments go out complete and on time.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Control

Maintain accurate inventory of raw materials, finished goods, spare parts, and consumables at all times
Own stock accuracy: investigate and resolve discrepancies between system and physical counts
Plan and execute cycle counts and periodic physical inventories; report and correct variances
Manage stock locations, bin assignments, and material identification/labeling
Monitor stock levels against min/max targets and flag shortages or excess to purchasing and planning
Control obsolete, damaged, and quarantined material; drive disposition decisions
Apply FIFO/FEFO and lot/batch traceability where required

Receiving

Control the receipt of all incoming materials against purchase orders, packing lists, and delivery notes
Verify quantity, condition, and documentation on arrival; coordinate with Quality on inspection holds
Post Goods Receipts (GR) in SAP accurately and same-day
Document and escalate discrepancies, damages, and short shipments to Purchasing and the supplier
Ensure received material is put away to the correct location promptly

Dispatch & Shipping

Control the dispatch of finished goods to customers per the shipping schedule
Verify picking, packing, labeling, and loading against customer orders
Post Goods Issues (GI) in SAP and generate/verify delivery documentation (delivery notes, packing lists, bills of lading, export paperwork as applicable)
Coordinate with carriers and freight forwarders on pickups, appointments, and documentation
Ensure on-time, in-full (OTIF) delivery performance

Goods Receipt / Goods Issue Process Ownership

Own the end-to-end GR/GI process, including procedures, controls, and documentation
Ensure all transactions are posted accurately, completely, and within the required timeframe
Maintain the audit trail; support internal and external audits and month-end close
Identify process gaps and implement corrective actions and improvements

Team Leadership

Supervise, schedule, and develop warehouse staff; manage workload across shifts
Train the team on procedures, systems, and safety requirements
Set performance expectations, monitor results, and conduct reviews
Foster accountability, discipline, and a right-first-time culture

Safety & Housekeeping

Enforce all health, safety, and environmental rules and company policies
Ensure safe operation of forklifts and material handling equipment; verify operator certification
Maintain equipment through inspections and preventive maintenance coordination
Sustain 5S/housekeeping standards and a clean, organized, audit-ready warehouse

Requirements

Education & Experience

High school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field preferred
3–5+ years of warehouse or inventory experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory role
Experience in a manufacturing or production environment strongly preferred
Hands-on experience with receiving, dispatch, and inventory control processes

Systems & Technical Skills

SAP (MM/WM or equivalent module) required — must be able to perform GR/GI postings, transfer postings, stock inquiries, and inventory adjustments
Microsoft Excel — comfortable with sorting/filtering, pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and building inventory reports
Microsoft Word and Outlook/email — able to produce procedures, reports, and professional written communication
Familiarity with barcode scanning / RF equipment and WMS functionality
Working knowledge of inventory principles: FIFO, cycle counting, safety stock, ABC analysis

Skills & Competencies

Strong attention to detail and a high standard for data accuracy
Ability to lead, train, and hold a team accountable
Problem-solving and root-cause thinking on discrepancies and process breakdowns
Clear communicator across production, purchasing, planning, quality, finance, customers, and carriers
Able to prioritize and stay organized under shipping deadlines

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

Warehouse environment with varying temperatures, noise, and forklift traffic
Regularly lift up to 50 lbs
Frequent standing, walking, bending, and climbing
Required PPE: safety shoes and high-visibility vest
