Full Job Description

Accounting Manager: Rockton, IL

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting operations and help drive the financial success of a well-established organization. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment, leading a team, and partnering with leadership to improve financial performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead daily accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and general accounting functions.
Supervise and mentor accounting staff while supporting a collaborative team environment.
Prepare and review financial statements, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close activities.
Monitor cash flow and assist with financial planning and reporting.
Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and reporting requirements.
Coordinate annual audits and prepare supporting schedules and financial analyses.
Partner with Human Resources on payroll, employee benefits, and related financial reporting.
Oversee sales tax filings, 1099s, payroll reporting, and other regulatory requirements.
Review customer credit requests and monitor credit risk.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve accounting processes and support business initiatives.

Skills & Experience:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field, required; CPA or CMA designation preferred
Experience: 4+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, required. 3+ years of management experience required.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles, required.
Software: ERP/accounting software experience, required. Advanced MS Office and proficiency in MS Excel, required.
