Full Job Description

Position Overview

The Store Call (TSC) is seeking a dependable and motivated IT Support Technician I to join our technology team in Rome, Georgia.

TSC provides commissary and technology solutions to correctional facilities throughout Georgia and the Southeast. Our technology includes kiosks, tablets, network-connected equipment, software platforms, and other systems used by our correctional facility partners.

This is a hands-on position combining traditional IT support with field service and equipment installation. We are open to candidates at different experience levels and are willing to train the right person who has strong technical aptitude, a willingness to learn, and a dependable work ethic.

Primary Responsibilities

· Provide technical support for TSC computer systems, hardware, software, and connected devices

· Troubleshoot basic computer, network, connectivity, and equipment issues

· Assist customers and TSC personnel with technical problems by phone, remote support, and in person

· Configure, install, maintain, and replace computers, kiosks, tablets, network equipment, and related hardware

· Assist with installation and deployment of TSC technology at correctional facilities

· Diagnose hardware and software problems and determine appropriate corrective action

· Perform basic network troubleshooting involving Ethernet, Wi-Fi, IP addressing, routers, switches, and connected devices

· Set up and configure new equipment prior to deployment

· Maintain accurate records of equipment, service issues, repairs, and installations

· Work with other members of the TSC technology team to resolve customer issues

· Communicate professionally with correctional facility staff and other TSC customers

· Travel to customer facilities as needed for installations, maintenance, and service calls

· Perform other technology-related duties as assigned

Qualifications

We are open to candidates ranging from entry-level applicants with strong technical aptitude to applicants with previous IT support experience.

Preferred qualifications include:

· High school diploma or equivalent required

· Technical school, college coursework, IT certifications, or previous IT experience preferred but not required

· Basic understanding of computers, Windows operating systems, hardware, and peripherals

· Basic knowledge of computer networking is preferred

· Ability to troubleshoot problems logically and methodically

· Comfortable working with tools and installing or replacing electronic equipment

· Strong communication and customer-service skills

· Ability to learn new technology and proprietary systems

· Dependable, organized, and able to work independently

· Ability to manage multiple service issues and priorities

· Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record

· Ability to travel to customer locations as required

Experience with CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft systems, networking, help desk support, field service, hardware installation, or similar technical work is a plus but is not required.

Work Environment

This position is based in Rome, Georgia and includes both office-based technical support and field work.

Because TSC serves correctional facilities, the employee must be comfortable working inside jail and correctional environments when performing installations, maintenance, or technical service. Candidates must be able to comply with customer facility security requirements and applicable background screening requirements.

Some travel within Georgia and surrounding areas may be required.

Physical Requirements

The position may require:

· Standing, walking, bending, and working around equipment

· Using hand tools and basic installation equipment

· Moving and installing computers, kiosks, networking equipment, and related technology

· Lifting and carrying equipment weighing up to approximately 50 pounds

· Occasionally working in equipment rooms, wiring areas, or other customer-site environments

What We’re Looking For

Technical experience is valuable, but we are equally interested in finding someone with the right attitude and aptitude.

The successful candidate will be someone who is dependable, mechanically and technically inclined, willing to learn, comfortable troubleshooting problems, and able to represent TSC professionally with our customers.

For an entry-level candidate, we are willing to teach our systems and processes. For candidates with previous IT experience, starting compensation will reflect applicable skills and experience.

Compensation

$20.00–$24.00 per hour

Starting pay will be based on experience, technical knowledge, certifications, and demonstrated ability.
