Job Description and Duties

Under the supervision of the Supervisor I of the Forms Management Unit, the Analyst I/II is responsible for a wide variety of analytical and consultative assignments, which includes creating complex forms and publications, consulting with various department program coordinators, reviewing/editing documents for online publishing, providing back-up support for the County Letter Process system, maintaining databases, and serving as a print liaison between programs and the Office of State Publishing. The applicant is expected to have proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft Office.

This position has been designated as eligible for telework. The position will require in-person attendance.

Working Conditions

This work location is very convenient! The CDSS is located two blocks from the light rail and public transportation: within walking distance of the State Capitol, parks, restaurants, farmers’ markets and the Golden 1 Arena. Our building has easy access to I-5, Highway 50, and Highway 80.

This position is eligible for hybrid work in accordance with the Governor’s Executive Order N-22-25 and at the sole discretion of the Department of Social Services under California Government Code Section 14200. All telework schedules are subject to change and may be re-evaluated at any time. The incumbent will be expected to report for in office work and attend work related in-person events as deemed operationally necessary. Telework does not change the terms and conditions of employment, the essential functions of job duties, or required compliance with the CDSS policies. For positions advertised in more than one location, headquarter location may be designated on the selected candidate's primary residence location, and/or the closest CDSS location in accordance with operational need and available space. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.

The Forms Management Unit's (FMU) mission is to manage and maintain the Department's forms catalog. The FMU processes requests for printing, graphic arts, and forms design. This includes all Departmental forms and/or any forms used by counties or the public. The FMU reviews forms to ensure they do not duplicate the function of existing forms and they adhere to Departmental guidelines. The FMU assists in disseminating forms that affects program policies and operating procedures to the county welfare departments.
