Full Job Description

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)

Location: (Must reside within 1 hour of Sacramento, CA)
Schedule: Full-Time

Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to join our growing interdisciplinary pain management team.

In this role, you will provide evidence-based counseling to patients living with chronic pain, helping them address the psychological and behavioral factors that influence pain, including stress, anxiety, depression, and insomnia. You will primarily utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and other evidence-based interventions through telehealth.

Previous experience in pain management is preferred but not required. We provide comprehensive training in evidence-based chronic pain management techniques to support your success.

Responsibilities

Provide individual counseling sessions via telehealth to patients with chronic pain.
Utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and other evidence-based approaches to improve coping skills and overall functioning.
Address behavioral health concerns related to chronic pain, including stress, anxiety, depression, sleep disturbances, and adjustment issues.
Develop and implement structured treatment plans, typically consisting of an initial six-session program.
Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.
Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation.
Attend occasional in-person team meetings and trainings (typically a few times per month).

Qualifications

Current California license as an LMFT or LCSW (required).
Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, or a related behavioral health field.
Experience providing individual counseling; CBT experience is preferred.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and patient engagement skills.
Comfortable delivering care through telehealth platforms.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
