About Us

Kanter & Associates, PA, CPAs (dba Kanter Consulting Group) is a growth-oriented, full-service CPA firm providing tax, accounting, forecasting, and strategic advisory services. Based in Oldsmar, FL, we serve clients across Tampa Bay and nationwide.

This is a remote position with a preference for candidates in West Central Florida or the Washington, DC area.

We’re seeking a confident, personable, and career-driven accounting professional with a strong sense of curiosity and a desire to grow. The ideal candidate is professional, proactive, and an effective communicator with excellent verbal and written skills.

You thrive in a collaborative environment, build strong relationships, and take initiative in solving problems and supporting clients.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and year-end close activities; must be capable of performing all underlying accounting functions as needed
Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, trusts, and businesses, with responsibility for accuracy and compliance
Support and perform key functions including accounts payable, payroll processing, sales tax, tax planning, due diligence, and account setup
Communicate proactively with clients and internal team members to gather information, resolve issues, and ensure timely delivery
Step in to prepare or review work based on firm needs, ensuring flexibility across engagements
Provide guidance, review support, and mentorship to junior staff while maintaining quality standards

Qualifications

CPA required
4+ years of public accounting experience
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software (QuickBooks preferred)
Ability to work effectively in a remote, team-based environment
High level of professionalism and confidentiality
