POSITION SUMMARY
The Human Resources Assistant provides administrative and operational support to the Human Resources department. This position helps maintain accurate employee records, supports recruiting and onboarding, assists with benefits and payroll-related administration, and provides responsive service to employees and managers. The HR Assistant works closely with the HR team to ensure HR processes are organized, timely, accurate, and consistent with company policies.
- Maintain accurate and organized employee personnel files and HR records.
- Update employee information and documentation in the HRIS.
- Prepare routine HR documents, forms, letters, and reports.
- Assist with maintaining confidential employee information.
- Provide administrative support for HR projects and initiatives.
- Assist with tracking required employee documentation and deadlines.
- Assist with posting open positions and maintaining recruiting records.
- Coordinate interview scheduling and candidate communications.
- Prepare onboarding materials and support new-hire orientation.
- Assist with collection and organization of new-hire documentation.
- Support completion and tracking of required employment documentation, including I-9 and E-Verify processes, under HR team direction.
- Provide administrative support for employee benefit enrollment and changes.
- Assist with qualifying life event documentation and tracking.
- Support annual Open Enrollment activities.
- Serve as a professional first point of contact for routine HR questions.
- Assist employees with locating HR forms, policies, and resources.
- Maintain confidentiality when handling employee information.
- Assist with maintaining required HR documentation and records.
- Support HR audits and reporting by gathering and organizing information.
- Help maintain current HR policies, forms, and employee communications.
- Follow company policies and HR procedures when handling employee information and documentation.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or coursework in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 3 years of administrative, HR, office, or related experience preferred.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn HRIS and other HR systems.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively with employees and managers at all levels.

The HR Assistant is an administrative and support-level HR position. The role is not intended to have primary responsibility for workplace investigations, employee relations case management, corrective action, employment-law determinations, HR policy ownership, strategic HR decisions, or independent resolution of complex employee matters. These matters should be escalated to the HR Manager or Director of Human Resources.
