Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Full-Time Dental Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in dental assisting, with expertise in clinical procedures, patient management, and infection control. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a supportive practice committed to excellence in dental care.

Responsibilities

Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, and prosthodontics.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments and equipment according to infection prevention management protocols.
Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to dental x-ray safety standards and radiation safety guidelines.
Manage patient records accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Provide patient care by taking vital signs, explaining procedures, and addressing patient questions with professionalism and empathy.
Support dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques to maintain clinical confidentiality policies and infection control standards.
Assist with dental instrument processing, chairside assisting, and operating dental equipment including 3D scanners when necessary.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with knowledge of dental terminology, medical documentation, and medical imaging techniques.
Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with patient management software is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of infection prevention management, sterilization procedures, and healthcare infection control expertise.
Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while maintaining safety protocols for both patients and staff.
Knowledge of pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry procedures is preferred.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
Certification in dental assisting or relevant training in medical terminology is required; additional certifications related to infection control are advantageous.
