Description

Morkin & Sowards, a fully owned subsidiary of The McFate Group is looking for an experienced Welder for structural and misc. steel. The selected candidate will be responsible for carrying out the following duties:

Responsibilities

Follow all safety and quality standards.
Be able to follow direction from the shop manager and work as a team.
Read and understand blueprints with knowledge of weld symbols.
Perform tasks such as MIG welding, bolting, use of fabrication equipment, and use of power tools.
Perform additional miscellaneous, incidental, or similar duties which may be required from day to day as directed by the company/shop managers.
Check all fabricated steel for quality and accuracy prior to paint and before shipping.

Key Traits

Must be able to pass a standard MIG weld test.
Must have up to date welding certifications.
Minimum 3 years fabrication experience.
Candidate must be able to work within a team approach.
Experience reviewing and understanding steel shop drawings and weld symbols.
Knowledge of current AISC and AWS standards.
Ability to treat safety as a primary focus.
Good communication skills.
Excellent attention to detail with emphasis placed on quality.
Self-motivated and driven to see results.
Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
