Job Summary

Join our dynamic Facilities Support team as a Buildings and Grounds Support specialist! In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of our facilities. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will ensure that our environment remains welcoming, sanitary, and well-maintained. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a clean, safe, and efficient workspace while developing your skills in custodial services, facilities maintenance, and safety protocols.

Duties

Perform comprehensive cleaning duties across various areas, including floors, restrooms, offices, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and sanitation tools.
Handle janitorial tasks with precision, ensuring all surfaces are sanitized according to safety standards.
Operate cleaning machinery safely and efficiently, including floor buffers and industrial cleaning equipment.
Manage chemical agents responsibly by following chemical handling safety procedures to ensure a safe environment for all staff.
Assist with general facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs, painting (residential or commercial), and upkeep of building fixtures.
Conduct heavy lifting and manual handling tasks while adhering to safe lifting practices to prevent injuries.
Support porters or custodial teams by providing assistance with cleaning schedules, sanitation efforts, and maintaining cleanliness standards throughout the facility.
Follow safety protocols diligently during all cleaning and maintenance activities to promote a secure workplace environment.
Respond promptly to custodial requests or issues raised by staff or visitors to ensure high customer service standards are met.

Qualifications

Proven experience in custodial work or janitorial services with familiarity in commercial or industrial cleaning environments.
Knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation procedures, and proper use of cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and mops.
Experience handling chemical agents safely in accordance with safety protocol procedures.
Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely while following established safety practices.
Strong customer service skills with a positive attitude towards assisting team members and visitors.
Prior experience in facilities maintenance or Porter roles is preferred; residential painting or industrial cleaning experience is a plus.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
