Accounting Manager

Location: Laguna Niguel, CA (Preferred)
Company: Quick Accounting Solution (QAS)

Quick Accounting Solution is a rapidly growing property management accounting firm seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead a high-performing accounting team in a fast-paced environment. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing a team of 5–8 Staff Accountants while overseeing the financial operations of a portfolio exceeding 25,000 residential and commercial units.

The ideal candidate is an experienced leader who thrives under deadlines, enjoys developing people, and has extensive experience with AppFolio and Yardi. This position requires exceptional organizational skills, strong technical accounting knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple clients simultaneously while maintaining the highest level of accuracy.

Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 5–8 Staff Accountants while maintaining accountability and performance standards.
Oversee the month-end and year-end close process for a portfolio exceeding 25,000 units.
Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements for accuracy and compliance.
Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and property management accounting best practices.
Oversee trust accounting, bank reconciliations, owner statements, security deposit reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Monitor department workload and ensure deadlines are consistently met in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Coordinate annual audits and respond to auditor requests.
Develop, improve, and maintain accounting procedures and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Analyze financial data and provide recommendations to executive leadership.
Monitor cash flow and assist with forecasting.
Partner with operations, property management, and executive leadership to improve financial processes and reporting.
Drive continuous process improvements through automation and workflow optimization.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA bonus).
5+ years of management experience leading accounting teams.
Property management accounting experience required.
Required experience with both AppFolio and Yardi.
Experience managing high-volume portfolios of residential and commercial properties.
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
Advanced knowledge of month-end close, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
Experience with trust accounting and owner accounting.
Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
Excellent organizational, communication, and time management abilities.
Ability to prioritize competing deadlines while maintaining exceptional accuracy.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Preferred Experience

Experience with private equity or real estate investment accounting.
CAM reconciliations.
HUD, affordable housing, or HOA accounting experience.
Experience developing accounting workflows and internal controls.
