Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery (L&D) – Nights

Location: Redwood City, CA 94062
Start Date: August 17, 2026
Shift: Nights | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours Per Week

We are currently seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery (L&D) for an exciting travel opportunity in Redwood City, California. This position is ideal for L&D nurses who are passionate about providing exceptional care to mothers and newborns in a collaborative acute care environment.

Position Details

Position: Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery (L&D)
Location: Redwood City, CA 94062
Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital
Unit: Labor & Delivery (L&D)
Care Setting: Acute Care
Shift: Nights | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Schedule: 36 Guaranteed Hours Per Week
Start Date: August 17, 2026
Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend
Floating: Required (Float to Postpartum in rotation with permanent staff)
MR System: Cerner

Requirements:

Active California Registered Nurse (RN) License
Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience
Current BLS Certification (AHA)
Current ACLS Certification
Current Advanced Fetal Monitoring Certification
Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Certification
Strong fetal monitoring, labor assessment, and critical thinking skills
Previous travel nursing experience preferred

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and the immediate postpartum period.
Monitor maternal and fetal well-being using continuous fetal monitoring.
Assist physicians and the interdisciplinary team during labor and delivery procedures.
Administer medications, IV therapy, and physician-ordered treatments.
Perform ongoing maternal and newborn assessments and respond promptly to changes in condition.
Educate patients and families regarding labor, delivery, postpartum care, and newborn care.
Accurately document patient care using the Cerner EMR system.
Collaborate with OB physicians, anesthesia, NICU staff, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
Float to the Postpartum unit as required.
Maintain compliance with hospital policies, patient safety standards, and quality initiatives.
