Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are a Santa Barbara based landscape construction company seeking an experienced office manager to join our team. The Office Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily office operations, including administrative tasks, general bookkeeping, basic Human Resource functions and supporting staff and management.

Essential Functions:

Process bi-weekly payroll
Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
Human Resources duties including: on-boarding new hires and managing personnel records, support processing claims, promoting basic HR principles and fundamentals
Bookkeeping with QuickBooks software
Financial forecasting and reports
Support accounting team for monthly and annual closures
Organize and coordinate office procedures and operations
Central point of contact for employees, clients for billing and vendors
As needed meet with staff at job sites and run miscellaneous errands

Competencies / Key Skills

Organizational skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
Communication skills: Strong written and verbal communication for interacting with staff, clients, and vendors in both English and Spanish
Problem-solving skills: Ability to address challenges and make decisions in a timely manner
Technical proficiency: Competency in office software, such as Google Office Suite and QuickBooks
Leadership and interpersonal skills: Ability to lead staff and interact effectively with all levels of the organization

Required Education and Experience

5 years minimum experience as an office manager and/or bookkeeper
Strong competency in Quickbooks
A/P & A/R
Payroll processing
Competency in Google Office Suite
Knowledge of Human Resources practices and procedures
Bi-lingual: English/Spanish (If you are not bilingual, please do not apply)
A valid driver's license and ability to drive personal vehicle during work hours

Preferred Experience & Certifications

Experience working with the building trades
Bookkeeping / accounting certifications
Leadership / communication training

References

Pay: $32.00 - $35.00 per hour
