Full Job Description

The Catholic Schools of the Diocese of Scranton are seeking passionate, dedicated, and faith-filled educators to join our elementary school faculties in the Catholic Schools of Lackawanna County. We are committed to forming students academically, spiritually, and morally in a supportive and mission-driven environment.

Position Summary:
Elementary teachers in our schools serve as both educators and role models, fostering a love of learning while nurturing the spiritual development of each child. Teachers are responsible for delivering high-quality instruction aligned with diocesan and state standards, integrating Catholic values throughout the curriculum, and creating a positive, inclusive classroom community.

Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based instruction across core subject areas
Integrate Catholic teachings and values into daily lessons and classroom life
Assess student progress and provide timely feedback to students and families
Maintain a structured, safe, and welcoming classroom environment
Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and parents to support student success
Participate in school and diocesan events, meetings, and professional development

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field
Valid teaching certification (or ability to obtain)
All required state and diocesan clearances
Letters of recommendation, including one from your pastor
Practicing Catholic preferred; all candidates must support the mission of Catholic education
Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills
