General Description

This position is located within the Absentee Shawnee Tribe Health Programs at Little Axe, Oklahoma. The grant project coordinator will be responsible for day-to-day activities including organizing activities, coordinating events, training, and establishing communication between staff, communities, schools, and agencies. The coordinator will assist the grant project director in coordinating evaluation and training activities. The coordinator will assure confidentiality and participation protection procedures are appropriately administered, and the grant data are properly maintained and stored. Responsibilities include arranging services, coordination across the system, recruiting stakeholders, providing technical consultation at the local level, interacting with the public and working closely with the tribe. This position will report to the Project Director.

Responsibilities & Duties

Monitor grant program to endure compliance with contract provisions and funding source regulations.
Meet routinely with the Project Director and provide on-going updates.
Plan, coordinate, and monitor grant funded program activities and special projects.
Act as a liaison and resource to the tribal community, organizations and partnerships.
Assist Project Director in collecting, recording, measuring, and reporting of data.
Conduct community assessments.
Coordinate the development, production, ordering and dissemination of educational materials and promotional items.
Assist in preparation of grant reports as required by grantee.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education Requirements and Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in a behavioral science field from an accredited university preferred.
Grants management experience and/or community outreach experience required.
Demonstrated proficiency in grants management, public speaking, group facilitation, training, prevention program development, prevention evaluation, strategic planning, and implementation, and data compilation.
Understand principles, practices and techniques of grant project planning, development, evaluation, procedures of budget preparation and monitoring, and contracted services.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Immediate to advance computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.).
Culturally sensitive.
Must have a valid Oklahoma Driver’s License.
Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, bend or kneel for long periods of time.
Sitting or standing or walking for long period of time; occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping; good finger dexterity and feeling; frequent repetitive motions; talking hearing and visual acuity
Frequent lifting (up to 15 lbs)
Occasional lifting (up to 30 lbs)
