Location: Metro Detroit, MI (Field-Based Role)

Job Type: Full-Time

Schedule: Flexible schedule with core hours primarily in the afternoons and evenings. Some daytime meetings with senior management are expected. Occasional on-call responsibilities may be required.

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a strong Operations Manager who can lead employees in the field, maintain operational standards, support staffing and recruitment efforts, and ensure consistent service delivery across multiple job sites. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who enjoys being in the field, solving problems, supporting employees, and driving accountability and performance.

Position Summary

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day field operations, supervising cleaning teams at worksites, addressing employee issues, ensuring compliance with company standards, and maintaining strong relationships with clients. This role also owns customer relationship management and business development activities, includinging prospecting and bringing on new customers, managing the onboarding process, preparing and delivering accurate quotes and proposals, and driving acount growth and retention. The Operations Manager plays a critical part in ensuring jobs are properly staffed, supplies are available, and work is completed safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise employees at job sites to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards
Conduct regular site visits, inspections, and quality checks
Address employee attendance, performance, and conduct issues promptly
Provide coaching, guidance, and corrective action when necessary
Ensure proper staffing coverage for all scheduled jobs
Operational continuity & Field support
Assist with recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding new employees
Maintain employee schedules and ensure adequate staffing levels
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and customer requirements
Manage and strengthen customer relationships through consistent communication and proactive support.
Prospect, identity, and engage new customers to expand the company's client base.
Lead the customer onboarding process, ensuring a smooth transition from initial interest to active engagement.
Maintain documentation related to employee performance and job site operations
Monitor cleaning supply levels and coordinate supply orders and deliveries
Track usage and control supply costs
Maintain organized inventory and ensure readiness for scheduled work

Qualifications

Required:

Prior supervisory or management experience (cleaning, janitorial, facilities, hospitality, or service industry preferred)
Strong leadership and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple job sites and priorities
Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between job locations
Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
Basic computer skills (email, scheduling, documentation)

Preferred:

Experience in commercial or residential cleaning operations
Experience managing employee attendance and performance
Bilingual abilities are helpful but not required

Work Environment

Field-based position working at customer locations
Frequent travel between job sites
Active role requiring walking, standing, and occasional lifting
Flexible hours with core afternoon and evening responsibilities
Occasional on-call expectations to support operational needs
