Full Job Description

Position Summary

The Accounts Receivable Clerk is an entry level position responsible for accurately processing customer payments, posting payments, maintaining customer accounts, and supporting timely collections. This role plays a key part in maintaining healthy cash flow while providing professional and responsive service to Empire Equipment Company’s customers.

Key Responsibilities

Generate, review, and distribute customer invoices in a timely and accurate manner
Post and apply customer payments (checks, ACH, wires, credit cards) to the accounting system
Reconcile customer accounts and research payment discrepancies or short pays
Monitor accounts receivable aging and assist with collection efforts as needed
Communicate professionally with customers regarding billing questions and payment status
Maintain accurate AR records and documentation in accordance with company policies
Coordinate with sales and operations teams to resolve billing issues
Support audit requests and internal controls related to accounts receivable
Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required
1–2 years of accounts receivable or general accounting experience is a plus
Experience in equipment, manufacturing, construction, or industrial environment is a plus
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Microsoft Excel and accounting software (ERP experience preferred)
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Professional demeanor when working with internal teams and external customers

Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
